Charles Huey for State Representative

For those that are complaining I took this off topic, you only need to look back at the posts. I said that I have heard Mr. Huey's promise before, from our own City Officials. The NEXT poster took it off topic with the Mayor. I straightened out the post from that person with the facts. I kept on topic with whatever was being posted at the time. So, again, I will say that I have heard that promise that Mr. Huey is giving about being "our representative " before, from our own City Council members. Our City is on a much smaller scale than what Mr. Huey is running for. So, if our own City Council can't keep their promise of representing us on such a small scale, how can Mr. Huey be expected to keep that promise on a bigger scale in a bigger office? This is a case where some politicians have ruined it for everyone, including Mr. Huey. It has hit a point that when someone makes that promise the voters just roll their eyes. That post is ON TOPIC.  (13 hrs ago | post #58)

Charles Huey for State Representative

I was responding to a comment from ArnoldVoter. My overall first comment was that we have heard the "I'll be there to represent you" and then once they get elected it all goes out the window. I made the comment that we need not look any farther than our own Arnold City Council to have see that before.  (Tuesday | post #49)

Actually, you could talk about Crisler and Moritz that way. They were against ED, but on the record Crisler voted for it every time it came up. You really need to sharpen those reading and comprehension skills. The Mayor said he would look into the sewer bills. He did exactly as he promised. He formed a committee that launched an investigation into the sewer bills and found that if the previous administration had raised the rates gradually over a period of years, we wouldn't have had this problem. So you need look no farther than your previous Mayor. As far as being covert...please provide one example of it. Mr. Edwards complained about Poor's residency. They Mayor was open and had an independent party investigate it. Mr. Moritz started an illegal rant against Doris, the Mayor put a stop to it and stated it was illegal. The Mayor opened up bids for the new applicants for City Attorney in the public. The request for bids motion was made by the Council, so look there for the hidden stuff if you like. As far as televising the Council sessions, Mr. Amato found a lot of money for a lot of things, and cost the City dearly because we really didn't have that money. Therefore, we are on a tight budget thanks to the "we'll find the money somewhere attitude" and that $1.5 million overestimation of the Triangle revenues that made the old members look good right before election time. The Mayor formed a committee for the openess of government in which Matt Hay was put in charge. The Mayor did his part, it is up to the leader of the committee to do the rest. I don't know if Matt has done anything to get towards the camera or not, but don't blame the Mayor, he did his part. I also have noticed that the Mayor will answer anything that appears on his campaign reports. Can you say the same for Mr. Crisler? He still won't answer who Jackie Etling is or what company provided his robocalls for his last campaign.  (Tuesday | post #47)

But how many times have we heard people running for office say they were going to represent the people and then as soon as they get elected turn tail and do the complete opposite? You need not look beyond the City of Arnold's own City Council (not all of them, but some of them) to have seen that card played before.  (Monday Dec 14 | post #29)

Law targets key meth ingredient

And for most the copayment for a med isn't $10...it's closer to $15 or $20. If you don't think the drug companies won't raise the price when they find out about this so they can make more money then you're nuts.  (Friday Dec 11 | post #10)

Randy, Off topic...This is a about Mr. Huey's run for office, not siroD and her comments. You make yours and she will make hers. Personally, I agree. It sounds like the guy is just switching parties to get votes which is pretty low. If you have to pick a party to run, they you should pick the one that best agrees with what you believe. If Democrat or Republican don't fit with your beliefs, then run as an Independent. At least you will be staying true to yourself. Also, if this guy can't decide on a party, how is he going to handle being in charge on making decisions and voting on things if he does get elected? Those decisions are much bigger and much more important than what party to run on.  (Thursday Dec 10 | post #9)

Sewer Rates Going Up

If the previos administration would have done a gradual increase over their eight years we wouldn't be in this mess. Even the committee that was formed to investigate the rated made that finding. Would you rather have a two dollarper bill increase over eight years or a sixty dollar inrease per bill in a single year?  (Thursday Dec 10 | post #2)

I think we need malpractice reform, too. I think that is part of what is raising healthcare costs.  (Wednesday Dec 9 | post #14)

Health Care - Arnold, MO

Nick, I agree with you on that one. My uncle is on Medicaid and Medicare. One time the doc's office screwed up and charged his visit to the wrong day and they wanted him to pay for the doc visit (it has to do with that whole spend down thing). My mother made them correct it and had a battle doing it. He visited the doc on the last day of the month and they charged it on the first day of the next month when his spend down starts over. I think the doc would rather have had my mother pay for the full visit because they would have gotten a lot more money than if the Medicare/Medicaid had to pay for it with their negotiated rates. On the other hand, I am afraid that if the negotiated rates are eliminated for the insurance companies, then our health insurance costs will skyrocket to make up the difference.  (Wednesday Dec 9 | post #12)
