Congrats---Welcome to socialism
Oh, and in the early polls, Handel isn't doing very well. She couldn't beat Roy Barnes either. We need her as Sec. of State! (13 hrs ago | post #72)
Congrats---Welcome to socialism
Unfortunately, we have more than one group wanting to be that third party. It weakens our system. We have the libertarians, green party and now the Tea party bunch. It's an unorganized mess. (13 hrs ago | post #71)
The Law Is The Law - So Be It!
Mike, I do agree on not having government employees leading prayer in schools. That would be a huge mistake. I do feel that kids should have a minute for private prayer or meditation. (Yesterday | post #29)
The Law Is The Law - So Be It!
As a matter of fact it would infrindge upon the rights of Christians. Not to practice their religion, but to include their religion in their daily lives....kinda like when Muslim towns shut down for prayer. It's a part of us and we feel we should be able to say "one nation, under God". It makes the pledge more personal and more reverent. You might not get it, but it makes sense to those that believe. Also, I like to say Amen at the end of the pledge. Like a little prayer. The removal of religious symbols in public places is very disturbing. Most of the symbols that have been removed in recent years were very old and had sentimental meaning. Like that cross out in the dessert for World War II veterans that some athiest group wants taken down. The cross was used as a monument to brave men. It's hurting no one. It hurts many to take it down. Tradition and sentiment are sadly becoming a thing of the past. We live in a disposable society. (Yesterday | post #28)
Congrats---Welcome to socialism
I have met Ms. Handel on several occasions and feel that she has been an excellent Secretary. She does her home work and cares about her job. I've had the pleasure of working on a project with her when she was first voted into office. I just don't think she can beat Roy Barnes if she won the primary. That Ray McBerry can't beat Barnes either. (Yesterday | post #57)
Congrats---Welcome to socialism
I don't think it was illegal and until I know all the facts, I can't say anything. If you'll notice, there have been other rumors that have surfaced and then went quietly into the night concerning Oxendine. There will be more. He's got a double digit lead over his closest contender and the Barnes campaign wants him out. They have vowed to run a dirty campaign and can't make anything stick thus far. (Yesterday | post #56)
The whole mess is weird and I don't think enough was done to investigate. (Monday Dec 7 | post #6)
Credit check and mental evaluation for all elected officials
Well, I think that with things the way they are, it should be changed. We've become some what of a nomadic society. People can run for office and win with out any knowledge or ties to an area. I don't think that's good for the populous of that area. (Monday Dec 7 | post #3)
James "Quartlow" Quarterman ARRESTED!!!!
HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA Thanks JQ (Friday Dec 4 | post #8)
DA David Mcdade under investigation?
All I'm seeing here is rumor. You should get facts. (Friday Dec 4 | post #28)
Dear James Quarterman: Thank you for the many laughs you've given me. I had a bad morning, but the article about your case being thrown out changed all that. I made it through the day with a new sense of hope and change. ROFL! (Friday Dec 4 | post #51)
A couple of quick notes here. James still owes the county even after his bankruptcy. The county can forgive that debt, but has not and will no. The Democratic group that he is president of is a new group. He started the group and runs it himself. This is not the same group that has been in DC for many years. (Friday Dec 4 | post #50)
James Quarterman - A waste of oxygen and your tax dollar!
JQ can't get a job or get elected, that's why he sues. (Nov 15, 2009 | post #6)
