I suppose it's a matter of how the tars and nicotines cling to the person and his clothing and follow him onto the plane. Maybe we could build a shower and laudromat onto the smoking lounge? (Jul 7, 2008 | post #28)
I didn't realize the airport was "adults only". when did that happen? (Jul 7, 2008 | post #27)
And a "strict restriction" is of course COMPLETELY different from a law..... (Jul 7, 2008 | post #26)
Smoking ban won't hurt bars, restaurtants
Couldn't agree more--except to add "waste of time and money". The tar clings to every surface and soaks into every porous object. (Jul 2, 2008 | post #725)
Mr. Jennings, I truly hope you were seated in the Non-Smoking section. (Jul 2, 2008 | post #6)
It's a shame that his behavior has you so paranoid. Apparently he has some issues that keep him from being honest. A friend of mine has been working through his issues regarding smoking--turns out it wasn't just smoking he lied about, and it wasn't just the smoking making him lie, it was a real psychological problem he needed to solve first. Non sequitur. One place doing the ban backwards is no more proof that bans are unnecessary than one child with birth defects is proof that we should no longer reproduce. We have bans because smokers feel their right to smoke supercedes anyone else's rights to do anything else. (Jul 2, 2008 | post #4)
Are Indiana's Marijuana Laws too Harsh?
So pretty much you only repsect the cops who don't arrest you--like I said. (Jul 2, 2008 | post #1024)
Are Indiana's Marijuana Laws too Harsh?
It occurs to me that the only people who actually call cops pigs (and other such names) are the lowlifes they may be arresting. (Jun 30, 2008 | post #1015)
I always thought they did it backwards--ban smoking anywhere BUT the lounge, not close the lounge and allow it outside. They won't stay away from the doors, you know that, but shut them up in the "gas chamber" and nobody else will have to deal with it. (Jun 30, 2008 | post #1)

Did you catch the research a few months ago about the link between addiction to nicotine and susceptibility to heart disease and cancer? Some people may be immune to the bad effects, while others are incredibly sensitive. That your grandmother smoked for a few years and then quit without relapsing may indicate she's one of the immune. Now here's a question: If I am immune to arsenic, does that give me the right to claim arsenic isn't harmful to others? (Jun 17, 2008 | post #605)

Five cigarettes a day??? Time five minutes each = half an hour a day with a brush fire going under your nose blocking the oxygen. Why not just put a bag over your head? (Jun 16, 2008 | post #596)

Then why freak at the idea of going out and NOT smoking? (Jun 16, 2008 | post #595)
