Many families impacted by operation

You guys are complete and utter idiots, with the exception of one person so far. So I understand that people read this story or hear about it and immediately think that a bunch of boats crossed over to the gulf and all of these people jumped off and hid or stole jobs...I mean that is what you all seem to think. Well first off, the reason a lot of these immigrants are here is because there called to help rebuild after Katrina. They were promised visas and in some cases citizenship. When the work was done or the "rebuilders " didn't want to pay anymore they dumped these people. What exactly do you expect them to do? I mean technically they are illegal and thanks to our wonderful government they can be put in jail if found. If you've been working and are told suddenly that you must leave because you are illegal and could be jailed if found, then yeah I guess the first thing I'd do in that situation is run to the police (who don't speak my language) and turn myself and my family in. Because I totally believe that no harm will come to me. Maybe all of you people should actually think about what impact this is having and not just skim an article and go with what everyone else is saying.  (16 hrs ago | post #21)

Downey's Black Man in 'Tropic Thunder' Get's Thumbs Up from Rea...

You know this thread is short enough for you idiots to read through before posting something that was already addressed. Quit hopping from topic to topic posting crap that better fuels your own agendas  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #20)

Latinos, Mexicans, and Hispanics

You don't even realize how racist your words are do you? 1)Have you tried to help anyone learn the English language? 2) How do you know that they don't "love the USA" or even speak English? Just because someone speaks their native language does not mean they don't know how to speak your language 3)I have no doubt that some men follow women around wal-mart...I also have no doubt that those men come from every race. 4)Fiestas? Really? How about a group of people carpooling or even getting all of their clothes together. You should try it sometime. I rarely wash a half-load especially if my roommates or girlfriend have laundry that could go in there too.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #5)

Gay/Lesbian

I am sorry. They don't allowed me to help you...

Unfortunately this discrimination has been going on for a very long time. I would love to do blood drives and even donate plasma, but until the American Red Cross stops their discrimination, I'll not donate blood blindly. If a family member or friend or even an individual on the spot needs it (highly unlikely that'd work), I'll donate but I actively protest this.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #6)

Why do gays (homosexuals) claim they were "born gay"?

Wow you really misread her quote lol.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #353)

Well dude I doubt anyone that is having sex in the bathroom really lets that define love  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #351)

Downey's Black Man in 'Tropic Thunder' Get's Thumbs Up from Rea...

I saw this and originally I was as shocked as the first response. Hearing that he is playing a white dude, I'm thinking it'll be okay. I like Downey. Oh and we only pay 5.50 for matinee and 6.50 for other shows. I wonder if movie rate is equal to minimum wage every where else? One hour of work equals one movie theatre ticket.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #15)

Korn Dogg how can you ask for respect when you obviously don't offer any of your own. You know nothing of the culture nor do you care to. That's really sad. I hope that you (as a proud American) never leave this country to go to another country that speaks a language other than English. I hope that no one sees your actions then uses them as a way of discriminating against you. Dude you suck and that's all I have to say on that. Thanks, Anna  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #3)

Starbucks To Close Hattiesburg Location; No Coast Stores Closing

Well regardless of your coffee choices, that means more jobless people. When is that okay to joke about? By the way I know quite a few people that work there and they are trying to put themselves through college.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #3)

Trans woman sues Ga. lawmakers for wrongful termination

I've heard the argument go both ways. On the one hand if being Trans remains clinically a disorder you have the ability to receive assistance when getting surgeries. On the other hand the negative connotation does set the group back as far as validity.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #5)

Boy Scouts sue Philadelphia over rent, policy barring gays

But the city owns the land and the building. I also have to wonder if the great people you named would have been in favor of their discriminatory practices today when so many have stopped being a part of a discriminatory group. "Film director Steven Spielberg resigned from the national group's advisory board. The city of Berkeley, Calif., stopped lending its marina for free to the Berkeley Sea Scouts. United Way chapters stopped funding programs, and the Defense Department stopped sponsoring troops." Boston.com  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #241)

Miss. school district bars teacher-student texting

I don't know this seems kind of an overreaction to something that hasn't happened. I am a college student at USM and I know this won't affect me but I wonder if this is going to limit students involved in extracurricular activities. Many student groups now have facebook and myspace profiles and it is sometimes easier to use those instead of email. I don't see how this will actually keep something from happening, if that is its intention.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #4)

difference between white and black kids

Anytime we start trying to associate a particular behavior to any group of people whether that is based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation it is a way of reinforcing stereotypes and it adds impetus to a system that only further corrupts youth. If you see a child do this, tell your children to not act that way, don't just attribute it to a particular group.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #3)

Census Says Gay Marriages Won't Be In 2010 Count

Your marriage is an arrangement? I'm sorry to hear that. You sound upset that your own life is working out as planned. And you're not even sure how long you've been married? That's a true shame  (Jul 17, 2008 | post #16)
