The Chinese military build up follows quite closely to its economic growth. As China gets more money, China spends more on the military. China not only spends less on military nominally than U.S. 70 billion vs 650 billion, its military spending is also less in terms of percentage of GDP 1.4% vs. 4.0% (v.s. U.S. again). Obviously the official Chinese figures are quite secretive and cannot be thought to be very accurate. Nonetheless, when compared with its economic growth, China's military buildup can't really be viewed as aggressive, at least no more than any other country. -Aixer Holy Crap!!!
