Once slow-moving threat, global warming speeds up, leaving litt...

At issue is how the entire human-caused Global Warming movement has been exposed as a ginormous scam. There seems to be no reason to believe what they say. The reality is there is no Separation of Church and State. The country was founded on Christian principles and the whole notion of removing Church from State is a sham because it just ends up replacing one belief system with another. There can be no vacuum of not having a moral system because every time Congress, etc makes a law or some regulation is decided upon, a moral decision is made - something is promoted or something is regulated. The reason the country has worked so well is because of our common moral heritage. It allows us to commonly guide us on right and wrong. The reason we are having so many problems is because of the attacks on our moral foundations from Modern Liberals. As John Adams said "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. I think we are closer than we think. The general issue we face is too much Modern Liberalism in society and in both parties. Conservatism wouldn't allow such entitlements because Conservatives would just say no to the spending. The Modern Liberals in BOTH parties are to blame for our problems. Gee, you didn't read what I said. I was talking about the bills in Congress. There are provisions to give various controlling bureaucracies (at both the Federal and State level) access to our TAX records so they can decide what they will cover - who lives and dies. Liberals LOVE to talk about how insurance companies don't cover everything, but the liberal plan is to move that CONTROL to more government bureaucracies. Most people will hate the Government HMO and wish for the days when insurance companies were around. The problem is this healthcare mess is not about healthcare; it's about liberal control. Since so many people LIKE their insurance and the current system, why are Obama and the Liberals/Democrats working on healthcare while the economy is so down? They should be working to provide a stable environment for business growth rather than ruining 1/7th of the economy with a a government takeover. Reagan moved us from the malaise of Carter (Carter's own term for the increase in liberalism) to a much more active economy where more and more people could benefit from the system. Revenue about doubled under Reagan - and, yes, it's from tax RATE increases and economic activity increases due to income tax RATE deceases. The deficit problem is due to spending, not taxes. It's amazing how ignorant liberals are. You said "...both conservative leaders who could care less about poor people." Let's see. Who has controlled the inner cities for almost 50 years? DEMOCARTS. The problem with your post is Palin is right. The healthcare bills give the government huge authority to decide who gets treated. People complain about HMO's, but what the liberals are proposing is to get rid of all of the insurance companies (our insurance) and replace it with one ginormous HMO, the Government HMO. That's why the bills give the myrad of new liberal bureaucracies access to our TAX RECORDS. It's to help determine if we get coverage. Remember, the liberals healthcare ideas are not about healthcare, they are about CONTROL. (It's not about covering the uninsured either. No, my post proves my point. Since signing Porkulus, Obama said he'd create 600,000 jobs but we have lost over 3,000,000 and millions more aren't even looking anymore. Obama is not making things better; he's making things worse. You can put your entire focus in the rear view mirror, but the fact is we live life forwards and things look bleak under these Democrats. That's not the argument...you are characterizing it for your own aims without regard for the truth. The reality is Obama has a history of hiding information. Where is the Birth Certificate? (Also, I'm from Illinois and he was a zero as Senator. He spent the time running for office rather than doing much work. If he cared about the people who elected him, he would have stepped down from office like Palin did so as to concentrate on what he wanted to do. Here's the month by month numbers. They don;t look good. It seems the explanation is that people are realizing that Obama is a zero and the the entire campaign was a big lie. I think a big part of it is the spending as taxpayers are realizing that they have to pay for it. Since the bottom half of taxpayers only pay 3% of the taxes, they are insulated from Obama's massive spending and, therefore, don't care about the deficits. That's WRONG. When Reagan cut tax RATES in the early 80's, it had the effect of almost DOUBLING the revenue over his term. Revenue did not drop. What happened is spending shot up. Also, Regan did raise taxes, but the DEMOCRATS reneged on the deal to cuts spending too. As for the issue of if a tax RATE cut now would add to the deficit, the answer is it would. Our choices are to allow people and businesses to spend their money or allow the government to confiscate what they can,print what they don't and assume the government will spend the money efficiently. Those are the choices. It's common sense to say that individuals will do a much better job that government bureaucrats at spending our money. So while the deficit would temporarily go up, over time as people's efforts kick in, the deficit will go down. As we have seen for many decades, when government spends our money they do a very poor job. As I said, you're wrong.  (Yesterday | post #1667)
