AIG gets $85B loan

I have a hard time with all of this as these are the same companies who refuse to help "regular " people with mortgage problems. They give no options when people need help - no bailouts. But when bankruptcy and closing rears its ugly head to one of the big corporations, the government gives them a stay and hands them the money....our money.  (Wednesday Sep 17 | post #4)

If I'd been an employee and saw a group of 20 some people storming the grounds, I would have been calling for help not facing a hostile group. A peaceful group is one thing but these people weren't there to be peaceful. 8 or even 9 people against 20 or more...I would doubt these employees would be expected or be that well-trained to stop a mob but that the employees would try and secure the palace and get on that phone to the police and DLNR.  (Aug 19, 2008 | post #6)

CBS ready for 'Five-O' hana hou

I don't have a problem with the re-vamping of Hawaii Five-0 if it is done well and respectfully. Look at some of the re-vamped television shows which have done BADLY: The Knight Rider, The Bionic Woman, Starsky and Hutch, The Avengers, The Dukes of Hazzard, just to name a few. If Hawaii Five-0 cannot be done well, leave it alone, and enjoy the original episodes coming out on dvd.  (Aug 13, 2008 | post #11)

Judge decries parents' silly name for child

So, what are the parents' names? Maybe they were given stupid names and they just decided to pass on the tradition to their child. People should have more common sense in naming their children and the impact it will have in their lives. One name I saw in the paper for a child was "Ecstacy. " Poor kid.  (Jul 24, 2008 | post #9)

Marines punish pair for dog's death

It was a cruel and heartless act. There was nothing funny or cute about it and the fact they could joke about something like this makes you wonder how they deal with the people they're to protect. In their frame of mind, a child might be next to toss over a cliff.  (Jun 12, 2008 | post #40)
