Gerald Mayeaux the next Chief of Police of Cottonport
I just spoke to my mother who lives in Cottonport and was told that the families are not related. She also said that even though Gerald has lived in Cottonport for many moons she believes he is originally from Fifth Ward. However, please don't quote her on the accuracy of his hometown being Fifth Ward since she was not 100% sure that was the town. She was just 100% sure that he married someone from Cottonport and has since then been a resident. (Sep 18, 2008 | post #5)

Gerald Mayeaux the next Chief of Police of Cottonport
Not having Gerald Mayeaux as Chief of Police would be like having rice with no gravy. It just wouldn't be the same. Vote for Gerald Mayeaux. (Aug 15, 2008 | post #2)
Some readers may ask why a "local" is not editing this page and even may question why the person who is editing the Cottonport Topix newsgroup is actually living in California? When I took on this assignment, it was with motivation of sharing the good news, the bad news, and the late breaking news. I wanted to report to the community without hesitation, without reservation, and without intimidation. Sometimes it easier to be objective through observation, and that is why I am happy to be the Cottonport Topix Editor. I welcome your input and hope that we will succeed as a group in becoming a more informed community. Thank you!
