Catholic Bishop Blesses No-Contraceptives Pharmacy

Who cares. There are many other drug stores all around where you can get the contraceptives you need. Personally I think it's a poor move on their part not to sell contraceptives. If they did they may actually prevent the spreading of a disease or two or an unwanted teen pregnancy. The Catholic church needs to wake up and realize this is not the old days. People (including Catholics) are having pre-marital s3x even if the church doesn't approve of it. Instead of just condeming it they should be trying to educate people to use protection if they insist on having s3x.  (Oct 22, 2008 | post #3)

Former Owners Strip Some Foreclosed Homes Bare

Ok so my I can see a small handful of applications being overlooked, but after reading your posts it looks like you are pointing fingers at everyone except the person buying the house. You mentioned the fault being on the person filling out the credit app. Did the soon to be home owner just sign a dotted line without reading the app to see that his/her income was grossly inflated? If not they are at fault for not only being stupid, but lying on a credit app for falsifying their income since they are the one requesting credit. It is not the realator that grants credit, it is the bank. Even if every realator out there told every person they could afford it the person still had to get a loan from the bank, not the realator. You can't blame a realator for a banks credit approval. If the person lied about their income on their credit app or signed on the dotted line where someone filled it out for them and the bank approved it without verifying the income the person still signed their mortgage papers sealing the deal. Did every one of these people sign their mortgage papers without reading any of it where it outlined their payments and every other detail of their loan? Is this also the realators fault? You don't sign the papers with the realator you sign it with a titling company. Stop trying to pass the blame to everyone, but the home owner. Sure a fair number of these home owners did everything right and received a bad hand with the way the economy fell apart. The rest were just trying to buy the biggest home they could sign for without stopping to think of what would happen with their subprime mortgage rates reset. I have no sympathy for those people. My sympathy goes out to the rest of us that are paying for the mistakes made by these fools. We, the ones that did nothing wrong, are the victims here paying for the poor financial planning of others.  (Oct 14, 2008 | post #23)

Former Owners Strip Some Foreclosed Homes Bare

I'm not sure I agree with a large number of the postings that condone the actions of those being foreclosed on. While some foreclosure victims did everything right and tried their hardest to keep their homes others were wrong from the start. Yes it's the bank's fault for those who were approved for more than they could ever dream of paying back, but at the same time those people knew they couldn't afford the loans. Where did these people think they were going to get the money to pay their mortgages when their interest rates reset? These fools signed on the dotted line for a mortgage they knew they wouldn't be able to afford and now that the rates have reset (as their contract said it would) they want us to feel sorry for them. He11 I partially blame them for getting us into this mess. I also blame the banks for being stupid enough to lend money to these fools when both the fools and the banks (also fools) knew the monthly payments could never be met. These people stripping the homes as they are being foreclosed upon are only going to run our economy and home values further into the ground. Sure whoever buys the home is getting a great deal due to the damage and missing items, but as homes sell for lower amounts due to this it's going to bring down the property values of all of the surrounding homes causing even more problems in the housing market when neighbors can't sell because they now owe more than their home is valued at due to foreclosures. Stop supportig and praising these fools. They're making things worse for all of us.  (Oct 9, 2008 | post #15)

Rate Cut Met With Mixed Feelings Overseas

Of course Bush is promising a veto since his administration didn't come up with the plan on a second stimulus package. Had his administration come up with it and the house voted against it he would be condemming them. January 20th can't come soon enough.  (Oct 9, 2008 | post #1)

Frederick Votes For English-Only Audio Books

I am glad to see Frederick taking a stand against illegal immigration and not bending over backwards to support these criminals like a lot of other places do. Someone needs to stand up for the American people before English becomes a secondary language here and we're all forced to speak Spanish.  (Aug 25, 2008 | post #16)

Pilot Sues To Get Off Terror Watch List - Travel Getaways...

This terror list is getting out of control. There are currently over 1 million people on this list. I find it hard to believe there are 1 million terrorists out there trying to board planes. If this guy is a veteran the government already has thorough background information on this guy. Unless there is more to the story why should this man lose his job because our government sucks @$$? There was recently a story with a news reporter who was on the list simply because of his name and it took several months along with him making the story public via the news before he could get it cleared up. Why did it take him embarassing the government publically before their screw up was corrected?  (Aug 20, 2008 | post #1)

Woman Claims Sex Change Cost Her Job - News Story - WRC |...

I don't agree with the sex change one bit, but the article wasn't about the sex change. The article was about the federal government discriminating against someone who was offered a job because they are changing their gender. I believe the government is wrong and should be sued. If this was any other company they would be sued and be forced to pay for discriminating against someone. Changing gender doesn't change the qualifications of this person. It's time the government start following the laws they create for everyone else to follow.  (Aug 20, 2008 | post #8)
