Dallas tannery being disassembled, but partially preserved
It is 145year old tannery in 3 Acres of Land...but with time,everything has to change.But i hope Lisa Kolen the owner ..can find some green pasture to develope their business once again. Leather Gloves and Garmen Factories in Chennei, India could be a very good option too.. (Sep 11, 2008 | post #1)
Waterloo tannery may move work to Mexico
Though Scott Landis, Eagle Ottawa vice president of human resources in North America is right in shifting the hide processing tannery to Mexico..but with USA automobile industry suffering from heavy losses and loosing their market share as well...I would suggest that Chennei, india is the best place , as there are more Tanneries ( VANIYAMBADI , AMBUR & RANIPET ) and automobile industries ( SRI PREMBADUR & HOSUR )close to each other..making cluster economic theory work effectively...With low labour cost and high quality work force experienced in tanning field, it can soon register profit.. To be frank with you..there is no much difference between indian and pakistani here...there are working together as brothers...The whole middleeast construction ...all the airports, tunnels, bridges, express tracks, and many high rise building are built by workers of both the nations...It is remarkable feat...During my stay I never found anything wrong about them...It may be our prejudice..due to medias role in creating a mindset..to suspicion (Sep 11, 2008 | post #3)
