A history lesson for you Pete. Here is the beginning of the collapse. The 1999 Financial Services Modernization Act (FSMA) was conducive to the the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933. A pillar of President Roosevelt’s "New Deal", the Glass-Steagall Act was put in place in response to the climate of corruption, financial manipulation and "insider trading" which resulted in more than 5,000 bank failures in the years following the 1929 Wall Street crash. Under the 1999 Financial Services Modernization Act, effective control over the entire US financial services industry (including insurance companies, pension funds, securities companies, etc.) had been transferred to a handful of financial conglomerates and their associated hedge funds. The archtiects of this debacle were Timothy Geithner, John Corzine, Larry Summers and Paul Volker. Clinton signed it into law in November 1999. We now have the Fox guarding the chicken coup. This is what happens when Government interferes in the private sector. In my view, the correct decision would have been to bail out no one. If they failed, they failed. The stimulus money at this point is nothing but a huge slush fund. Only 15% of it has been allocated and it has created no private sector jobs whatsoever and will fail miserably. All of this done on borrowed money with no accountability. So much for a transparent administration. Get off the incessant and largely inaccurate Bush bashing and insurance company bashing and face reality for a change. Obama has done nothing but exacerbate the problem and drive the country to the verge of 3rd world nation status. We now are the most debt ridden country in the world thanks to Obamanomics and he and his marxist cohorts have accomplished this in less than one year.  (Friday Nov 20 | post #11)

While in T.C. today, I stopped at the Hyundai dealer and test drove a Genesis 4.6. Wow! That thing flies. 375hp V-8. MSRP 44.4k with 1500 demo miles on it was being offered for 36k. Nav. Package, Lexicon 17 speaker stereo, Heated/cooled seats, 6 sp auto...every option. The mainstream media has done everything they can possibly do to viciously, maliciously and with purposeful intent destroy her and her family both politically and personally. Their robotic mouthpieces all over the country such as GR Pete and his ilk have been given license to spew forth any number of hateful, name calling comments regarding her and her family as so pleases them because it has become fashionable on the left to do so. So why this unprecedented and unending attempt to destroy someone who, according to the left, is a political lightweight? I've said it before and I'll say it again. FEAR. You can pooh-pooh it all you want but down in their guts they're quivering and the more they trash her, the more I admire her guts and spunk. After all she's been through, she just keeps moving forward and she's like a huge boil on the lefts' a*sses.
