NM Drivers Licenses and Air Travel

As the "sages" on the Albuquerque 101 thread have let us know- if we don't like this kind of (recurrent) thing- we need to move! That's their solution for everything.  (Monday Nov 30 | post #6)

Albuquerque 101: What to pack

Typical. Let's not clean up New Mexico- let's leave it be a shi'ite hole and if you don't like it, move! Typical. There are a lot of people that can't move. In case you have forgotten, there's a recession, which affects the job situation in the whole country; home prices are still down; and even though a lot of the people posting hit the nail on the head about Albuquerque, they KNOW that life is cheap here- on soooo many different levels- compared to a lot of different places around the country- this affects mainly retired people and those living on disability pensions- real disabilities, not like Marty Chavez's $37,500. weasel award.  (Monday Nov 30 | post #26)

APD Officer Who Shot Herself Thanksgiving will be:

Officer Masser? (Maser?) a 17-year veteran Albuquerque Police Officer apparently shot herself during a domestic violence situation with her live in woman lover over the Thanksgiving Holiday. The shooting was intentional. Officer Masser? (Maser?) Remains hospitalized. The DA has not decided whether she will press charges or not. Who's she kidding? That only applies to mere mortals, and at any rate, with the customary 2+ year waiting period to try rogue Albuquerque P.D. Officers, Masser will be retired by the time DA Kari Brandenburg decides whether to press charges or not! New Mexico Public Officials: They don't care- they don't have to!  (Monday Nov 30 | post #1)

Five Krispy Kremes Coming to Albuquerque

Are you kidding? Chief Ray "Boys will be Boys" Schultz is still heading up Albuquerque P.D. I can already hear Blue Blunder spinning her rotors rarin' to go! It's not funny when it costs close to $1,000 bucks an hour to keep that baby flyin' ! And guess who pays for it and how?  (Monday Nov 30 | post #9)

GE to close South Valley plant

From the intensity of the remark, I think you've hit a nerve and close to home! Some people have no sense of humor. It's really funny when someone tries to pass as an authority on stuff and comes across as a bit short of the mark. I have also found it curious all these new posters with no ISP or location posting so closely together and all in such synchronicity.  (Sep 30, 2009 | post #28)

Candidates come out swinging at debate

Mayor for Life Marty Chavez has been Mayor for 12 years. It would be unbelievable if after 12 years he could not speak with more authority than 2 other men who have never been Mayor of Albuquerque. However, that Marty Chavez has command of the Albuquerque landscape doesn't mean he is doing his job well, honestly, ethically, for the benefit of the people of Albuquerque, and that he is not abusing his power and promoting corruption. Better an HONEST, DEDICATED ROOKIE, THAN AN EXPERIENCED CROOKED SNAKE-OIL SALESMAN!!! Count me in the Anyone But Chavez voting bloc!  (Sep 24, 2009 | post #5)

Attacker may have unknowingly killed barber

You know, that makes sense. Why on Earth would the police be making statements to somehow either mitigate or lessen the character of the crime?  (Sep 16, 2009 | post #13)

Say what you want about "Mexicans ", but only Red-Necks have a show called "Jeff Foxworthy" where they COMPETE to see who has the trashiest front/backyards and WINNERS are featured on each weekly show! I don't recall seeing that on any of the tiresome and unending Spanish-language/o riginating in Mexico TV programs. And how do you KNOW that those homes that got citations aren't owned by RED-NECKS competing for next week's title championship on Jeff Foxworthy, instead of "Mexicans "  (Sep 3, 2009 | post #91)

Have you checked on Judge Theresa Gomez, of Metro Court? She was not only fixing tickets, but despite her $100,000 a year job, she was living in this kind of housing meant for the poor.  (Sep 3, 2009 | post #85)

Lazy? People like you often attribute this behavior to illegals. But as most red-neck farmers know, these are very strong work-ethic people. I worked as a migrant seasonal farm worker advocate in a Southern state for a few years. The farmers, who were often very prejudiced would often tell me: "I loooove these ole boys. One W_______k does the work of 10 __________(N-word) -boys". You must not be a homeowner. A homeowner has EMPATHY for struggling homeowners, especially in these times that define people's true character. Many of them are probably jobless and either looking for work, or working several minimum wage jobs in another state or city trying to stay afloat. While they are away from home working, their homes are getting vandalized or burglarized. The assessor is raising their taxes and now Generalissimo Chavez is having his revenuers giving them tickets for $500. It is all part of Mayor Chavez's War on the Poor and Working Poor. People that are mean-mouthing these people are probably people who: 1) Had their Mommies and Daddies co-sign for the loan on their home or MORE LIKELY 2) Angry, white losers, refugees from the West coast or Texas who live in an apartment, or some rented trailer in Belen. Anyone that has lived in this town any length of time knows what a bunch of hypocrites and law-breakers people like Mayor Chavez and company are. Chavez himself is a loser who can't make it any other place except as Mayor of Albuquerque. For that he relies on the equally crooked vote counters, and the massive army of city of albuquerque employees and their families, albuquerque p.d. and albuquerque f.d. employees and their families, and the many racist people in Albuquerque who enjoy seeing him kick low-income Hispanics and Whites around. These people's situations should be taken on a case by case basis.  (Sep 3, 2009 | post #82)

Richardson heads to Cuba

By the way, has KOB rigged the "judge it" section too so that any post critical of Governor Richardson can only get negative feedback? I have tried leaving positive feedback on a few and for some reason they don't "stick". I'm definitely switching to Ch13 news. At least they are not the official voice of Governor Richardson and Mayor Chavez. Ugh.  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #71)

I think you are believing the bullfeces they put out. It is true that they have a tremendous number of doctors; it is true that IF YOU CAN PAY IN US DOLLARS, the treatment you can get is second to none. However, for the average Juan Perez (John Smith, John Doe, etc.) Yes, you can get to talk to a doctor free. Medication is NOT free. You have to pay in US Dollars. If you are hospitalized, YOUR FAMILY has to bring you food, as the hospital, unless you are a wealthy capitalist who flew in to have surgery and is paying thru the nose, DOES NOT PROVIDE IT. Doctors all over Cuba are working OTHER jobs because being a doctor pays so little. You need to dig a little deeper, unless you are one of the countless "useful i--d---i--o---t--- s" Cuba maintains in this country to give the "left" spin to what goes on down there. I have a daughter married to a Cuban-American orthopedic surgeon, and he travels there several times a year. We KNOW what is going on.  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #70)
