Monday's Letters to the Editor
Here is the link JC IN RB tried posting. Charles Torrance needs to watch it. If Judge Roy Bean is a real judge he should know the lead special prosecutor (Bennet) exonerated McCain and asked he be removed from the investigation. And Bennet is a democrat. http://www.youtube .com/watch?v=_MGT_ cSi7Rs&eurl=ht tp://gatewaypundit .blogspot.com/ (Monday Sep 29 | post #14)
Monday's Letters to the Editor
I wonder if Mr. Lowe from Santa Monica is willing to give President Bush credit for no terrorist attacks on our soil, several years of low un-employment, and years of a thriving stock market, probably not. Well the economy may be tougher now but we are not in a recession which is defined as two consecutive quarters of negative growth. The real down turn came when the democrats took over in 2006. Senator Obama claims doom and gloom, well in the last eight years he has written two memoirs earning him millions, acquired a very nice home, has a wife who earned six figures, and he is on track to raise 400 million dollars. Obama’s solution is more government, which is the last thing we need. Remember that the government got involved in the mortgage industry and now billions of tax dollars are being used to rescue it. At the same time the same politicians who created that mess are demonizing the oil industry, the only major industry providing a profit for its shareholders without being rescued by tax dollars. A vote for Obama is a hope for a trickle up philosophy, I don't know about the rest of you but I never got a job from a poor person. (Monday Sep 29 | post #3)
Tuesday's Letters to the Editor
The Breeze is going down and down fast. Just yesterday they publish someone who calls us the terrorist and now they publish this dribble from Ms. Celnicker. There is no argument there, just hate. And as I said in yesterdays comment, once the editor at the Breeze chooses to print hate and not debate I am canceling. Debate and arguments are fine from all sides but this is propaganda. Sunday's Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor: I agree with "shame on you" that there is a fine line between honest debate and hateful anti-american writings. The next time the Breeze publishes hate, not debate, I will assist in their going bankrupt by immediately cancelling my subscription. Hey Ralph Orr do you have the courage to go to Afghanistan or Iraq and take up arms with your Al Qaeda TERRORIST and challeng the true freedom fighters the UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES? Wednesday's Letters to the Editor
In response to Ms. Palmer's criticism of Governor Palin putting her career before her family, I wonder if she is as critical of the following ladies: Katie Couric, Soledad O'Brien, Campbell Brown and Meredith Viera. These are all powerful career minded women in the media. Between them they have had a husband who died at 42 with young children at home, one flew to a location to do an interview at 8 1/2 months pregnant, a husband with MS and multiple battles with colon cancer plus young children at home plus other difficulties. I have yet to read of the criticism against them that has been lashed out against Governor Palin. She should be an inspiration to all not just women. I guess Ms. Palmer is going to vote for the candidate who in a very recent interview said he might take a second look at his tax increase on the so called rich. Because to increase taxes during tough economic times would hurt the economy. So I guess he is going to wait for a stronger economy then tax the rich in order to hurt the economy then? Well, my vote is going for the person I can point to and show my daughter anything is possible as long as you work hard. (Wednesday Sep 10 | post #3)
Obama calls for $1,000 energy rebate
Don't forget his solution to decrease our reliance on foreign oil and reduce is prices is that we all need to go out and properly inflate our tires and get tune-ups (many vehicles no longer require them. This will solve all our problems. What a fool. (Aug 1, 2008 | post #3)
Friday's Letters to the Editor
Mr. Lieu clearly doesn't care how much we pay at the pump or how adversely it impacts our families. Ten years ago when there was a push for more drilling (ANWR and off shore) the opponents said what Lieu says today. So in ten more years when we are paying $10 a gallon the future Ted Lieu's can easily say why start now it is going to be ten years before we get a drop. It is embarrassing that a former military officer and current elected official has no faith in his fellow Americans. This nation has responded when needed. When we didn't have the technological advances we have today our nation re-built a decimated navy and won a World War in matter of a few years. Remember Katrina, I do but it wasn't because of the massive oil spills from the numerous rigs off shore. If a tourist is impacted by something many miles off shore I say go to Las Vegas. Supply and demand Mr. Lieu, that is basic economics. I say drill here, drill now, pay less. (Jun 27, 2008 | post #3)
Monday's Letters to the Editor
Mr. Tuxford believes we are as close to a dictatorship in this country ever. That thought is either naïve or a display of hatred for a politician, which he rightfully did not have to vote for. Let’s cover a few things the Bush-Cheney dictatorship has done. It passed no child left behind, co-authored by Sen. Kennedy (D)-Mass, prescription drug benefits (bi-partisan support) and recently the FISA 2008 Act. The bill that received support and endorsement from Nancy Pelosi (D) the House Majority Leader. He is one heck of a dictator to pull support from these two significant power players from the other side of the isle. Let’s see as Americans we are free to travel where and when we want, attend any function of our choosing whether political or not. Shop at any store, all of which are full of goods, and a Black American is one general election away from being the President of the United States. Imagine all this and under the Bush-Cheney dictatorship. Maybe Mr. Tuxford’s intent was to re-define what dictatorship is. (Jun 23, 2008 | post #1)
Harman backs bill giving telecoms immunity for warrantless wire...
I'm glad the two who are critical of Harman's support for this FISA Act are not in charge of our safety. Can you explain how, in the post 9-11 era, you expect to be kept safe. It is safe to say if there were gross violations of American's liberties the press would be eating it up. Haven't seen those headlines yet. Plus, you are not that important so don't worry as long as your aren't calling caves in Afghanistan I'm sure Rep. Harman or President Bush aren't listening to your calls. (Jun 20, 2008 | post #6)
Wednesday's Letters to the Edtor
Robert is right on. Kyoto has cost european countries a lot of money. Once they reach their carbon limit they have to transfer the business elsewhere. In some cases the US has benefited with some steel companies producing here in the US. There is no proof humans are the cause of CO2, just look at Jupiter where it has a high level of CO2 in it's atmosphere yet there are no humans there. Robert is also correct in that people need to educate themselves. (May 28, 2008 | post #2)
Your right on with your pointing out the effect the future commodities play in this, but both political parties are at fault. With more demand and less supply this causes the traders to predict higher prices. The KYOTO treaty has destroyed many of the nations that have signed on to it. Many European countries are wishing they could get out and now you have McCain saying we ere wrong to never join. That adds power to the future traders to push the price up. (May 26, 2008 | post #5)
Actually, your right the oil prices were low when President Bush came into office. And if you look at the price change the biggest changes started when the Democrats took over in 2006. The speculators saw the price going up because of the Democrats policy on oil exploration and building of refineries, in which we haven't built one in over thirty years. (May 26, 2008 | post #3)
