2010 Johnson County Area Today’s Girl Pageant & Community Sevice Event~Sat. Nov. 14 ,2009. Shepherd's Valley Cowboy Church 32915 I-35 (I-35 Campus)*Burleson, Tx. Reg:~8:30am~Pag:~9 :30am* Public invited to attend this CSE hosted by Cristian Mallory, 2008 Tx. Today's Humanitarian Leader. Young ladies will be competing for awards and titles of 2010 JCA Today’s Baby0-3, Doll4-6,Miss7-9,Jr 10-12,Teen13 -15 & Girl16-18. Today’s Girl offers titles in each Division for Beauty, and Baby/Doll Opt. Talent, & Today’s DarlingBaby/Doll. In older Divisions, a Talent Crown is awarded. Competition division is determined by the contestant’s age the day of the pageant.The contestants compete in Interview, Casualwear,& Party Dress for the Overall Title with Talent 7 & up. Contestants may choose to enter Beauty only(for ages 7-18). Talent is optional for Today’s Baby/Today’s Doll Divisions. Opt. categories for each group to enter:Photogenic, Best Casualwear, Best Party Dress, Dream Girl, Overall Dream Girl, Overall Portfolio. Special event:Western/Rode o Attire Event. Today's Girl is an educational program for today's girl which provides guidance for the development of tomorrow's leaders. Our goal is to offer a positive environment that allows today's girls to develop poise, self-confidence and character, while developing tomorrow's leaders. Today's Girl is a scholarship based program which encourages the development of talent, academic achievement and an awareness of the need to improve their social environment through community service. To meet this quest, Today’s Girl sponsors pageants wherein each girl who wins a title, must participate in community service projects in order to qualify for a State Overall Title. The JCA Prelim is one of numerous Today’s Girl Competitions held throughout the States of Texas, LA, Ark., Ok., Miss. and Fl.. Today’s Girl was recently accredited as one of the Presidential Points of Light Volunteer Organizations for the United States. As such, Today’s Girls will do community service throughout the year and at the end of the year, may be awarded a Presidential Pin. To help our Texas girls attain their community service requirement for the State pageant, we are asking that girls & members of the audience bring: New Teddy Bears for Teddy Bears For Trooper's, canned/boxed foods, Cards made out to "Recovering American Soldiers" for Tx. Angels for Service project, or personal hygeine items to the Prelim. Tx. Angels For Service's Angel, bags of individually wrapped candy for Shepherd’s Valley Cowboy Church for their Thanksgiving Baskets. A portion of the door admission fees collected at this CSE Pageant to the SVCC Fine Arts Dept. Teddy Bears are donated to Teddy Bears For Trooper's for State Trooper's across Texas. Personal hygeine items such as soaps, shampoo's conditioners, toothpaste, combs, & brushes go to those in need at Beautiful Feet Homeless Mission in Ft. Worth. Canned foods will be donated to Recerving American Soldiers. Cards will be donated to the Dallas VA Hospital.Today's Girls competing and reigning will recieve Community Service hour accreditation for their donations. Miss JCA Humanitarian to be awarded to Cont./Reigining Royalty with highest total of community service hours recieved on Nov. 14th. Miss Congeniality will be awarded to the person with the most referrals. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the optional categories. Crowns are awarded to Overall Queen, Princess, Talent, Beauty Winner, Beauty Princess in each age div. and opt. Talent winners. A special Christmas/Winter Angel Award will go to the Christmas/Winter Angel Event Overall winner. Admission charge:$3 Adults,$2 Child 12 & under, or Free admission w/donation towards one of our CSE projects equal to 1hr. community service as listed above. JCA TG Local Director is Terri Dueboay.
