You might want to do a little research, and see that there are whites, and other races that are on the government assistance roles. In fact, only 7% of young single mothers are able to complete a college degree, enabling them to get out from under poverty. Marriage at young ages that are caused by unintended births rarely last, leaving the mother to take the burden of support for her child. The legal system is one sided (money for attorneys and courts) to the point that trying to get the child support and assistance from the other spouse is not financially feasible leaving these young mothers no choice but to use some form of financial assistance. Yet, women's right's obstructionists do not look past their own selfish, irresponsible and unrealistic ideals to understand the reality of what I am stating. In fact in Louisiana where I live, there is a push for courts to promote a 50/50 child support plan that does not support the proven system that was intended to be in the best interest of the child, i.e. designation of a domiciliary parent which provides stability and consistency for that child (called 20/10 versus 50/50). Imagine having to stay with a different parent every 7 days until you reach the age of an adult? Which day care/pre-school should I go to? What school do I attend? What kind of consistency will I have in my young life? The only thing that is consistent in the 50/50 arrangement that courts are advocating is chaos! In America is it all about money, and LOOKING good? Who really cares about these children? There is a need in any developed country to take care of all citizens. America is the only developed country that does not have universal health care for its citizens. (36 min ago | post #27714)

Yes, in this case the person is INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. This is a Republican. Surely it was justified, it was only an accident that could not have possibly been avoided. Surely the victim was in the wrong. Shame on this person for bringing this out, it was hidden from the public for a reason, a GOOD reason I am sure. And at the same time they are people are buying (resale) homes at the highest rate in a decade (10.1%). Many of these foreclosures are caused by people who do not know how to live within their means. The idea that Both SPOUSES MUST Work to survive is a lie created by the fact that the ordinary American does not know how to prioritize NEEDS and Wants, and are unwilling to put off their insatiable need for materialistic WANTS. You are right about "pulling themselves up." Had they not done this ON THEIR OWN in the 50s and 60s, they would have never got where they are today. Of course, once they did, whitey expects them to make up 150 years of neglect, abuse and lost opportunity in a few decades. If that were possible Whitey would have developed a degree above PHd by now, because all the Whitey's would have been able to reach a PHd level easily, which is certainly not the case. Why not? In early February, we reported that CBO forecasts were NO BETTER THAN WILD GUESSES because the models they used only accounted for post-World War II recessions and couldn't factor in a simultaneous financial-sector collapse. The GOP latched on to the optimistic CBO projections that ignored the financial-system collapse. Presuming a shallow dip and a quick turnaround, the CBO projected that the stimulus bill could actually slow growth in the long term. "As CBO has stated, this bill will not work. In fact, this bill will hurt our economy," Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) said in at the time in a statement typical of the genre. The CBO, however, has already been shown to be wrong. It's January projection for the unemployment rate for all of 2009 was 8.3 percent. (Click on economic projections.) By March, unemployment was already 8.5 percent. The CBO has since revised its unemployment rate forecast and now says it'll be 8.8 percent by the end of 2009. They are stating that he will plead insanity which is the real reason. People jump off roofs because they believe they can fly, but does not make them airplanes. Did the 911 commission really get to the truth. Were the right people held accountable? Which government employees are still in jail for their total incompetence and poor job performance leading up to 911? The same excuses were the outcomes of Columbine. There should have been some school officials fired or put in jail for not acting on obvious indicators that even an untrained person should have witnessed and responded to. Instead, no one is accountable. But this POTUS, this Administration, This time in History, we need to make everyone accountable, we need to turn over every people and look for problems, we need accountability, we need it NOW, after 4 decades of Laissez-faire public accountability and lack of unified concern.
