I commend the authors of this meta-research study. Homeopathy is a system of medicine that can address all disorders, physical and mental.

What this study: Homeopathy for depression: a systematic review of the research evidence. Export
by: K. Pilkington, G. Kirkwood, H. Rampes, P. Fisher, J. Richardson brings to the forefront is that there are not enough journaled article reports to gather data.

It is believed that homeopathy is applied based upon individualized repertorization of rubrics including many symptoms including physical pains and ailments, plus dreams,illusions, delusions, fears, moods, sensations and how environment and situations effect the individual.

Most homeopaths take on the care of many patients, but do not publish their work, probably due to time and staff needs. They could probably use a support system of assistants, an easy form to upload information, and funding to get extra hands to help them write up reports and submit them.

Funding could also be used to devise and carry out research studies and help gather potential patients.

The authors deserve a round of applause for looking into this area of care beyond the 'clinical trials' and into outside sources. They have pointed out the need for more studies and definitive information to substantiate claims that we hold to be true.

This author believes completely that homeopathy helps mental disorders, but I would also like to see data and reports on these matters.
::::::::::
CONCLUSIONS: A comprehensive search for published and unpublished studies has demonstrated that the evidence for the effectiveness of homeopathy in depression is limited due to lack of clinical trials of high quality. Further research is required, and should include well-designed controlled studies with sufficient numbers of participants. Qualitative studies aimed at overcoming recruitment and other problems should precede further RCTs.

Methodological options include the incorporation of preference arms or uncontrolled observational studies. The highly individualised nature of much homeopathic treatment and the specificity of response may require innovative methods of analysis of individual treatment response.

Thank you Dr Nancy for listing a few of the excellent available homeopathy remedies that specifically address depression.

Most importantly, the individual requires a detailed interview to determine the unique characteristics and symptomatology that define "depression."

Thank you very much for such a nice information.
In my opinion lots of experimental evidences are required to go into the depth of homeopathic medicines. But i'd like to suggest one thing..there are so many homeopathic Dr. treating so many patients all over the world. Word depression may be common but every individual has different genetic make up and hence will respond differently to the treatment. So, i guess that it'll good if for any common type of disease but single Disease for ex. depression may be, Dr. can share their experiences, mode of treatment, and response of patient. This effort not only will help in understanding a particular diease in detail but it'll create a detail information about a particular disease and may help further in treating the patients in future.

Dear Sarika ~ You are absolutely correct. The word "depression" does not really describe and identify the exact personal experience and feelings of this state of being. That is precisely why a depressed person needs to speak to a professional to help understand through words what the mind and body are going through during this state of "depression" in their life.

What would it take to convince homeopaths that homeopathy doesn't work? How many failures are needed?
