Periodontist Roberta Shaklee achieved national prominence

When she looked back on a career in dentistry that spanned 50 years and brought her national prominence, Roberta Shaklee would recall what a coincidence it was that her North Denver elementary school had a direct tie to her chosen field. Smedley Elementary School is named for John Smedley, one of Denver's pioneer dentists; his grandson, John V. Smedley, also a dentist, later sent patients to Shaklee's periodontal practice.

Raucous sketches light up Alchemist Theatre with hilarious laughter

Guy one is Jason Powell and Guy two is Doug Jarecki, and it may or may not have happened like that as they created " Destiny, Deviltry & Dentistry ," a series of seven sketches currently on display at Alchemist Theatre through Sept. 20. But whatever kind of thing got these two local guys to sit down and develop this show, it was more than worth it, as it's about 90 minutes of some of the funniest original stuff I've seen in Milwaukee in a long, long time.

Doctor Bradley Dykstra will host his second annual Dentistry From The Heart event on Friday providing at least the first 125 patients with a free extraction, filling or cleaning.
