The Moylan Montessori Magnet School, hailed by a Hartford school board member as one of the city's educational "crown jewels," may move to West Hartford by fall 2016. City school officials said they've been promised $2.6 million in state funds for a permanent site to house the 212-student elementary program that is located in cramped, temporary space at Moylan and McDonough schools in Hartford's South End. Lawyers for the 17-year-old Windsor Lock girl who is receiving chemotherapy against her wishes and her mother have filed a request in Superior Court for a full psychiatric evaluation of the girl. Cassandra C. is between treatments and may leave Connecticut Children's Medical Center and go to a specialized group home to receive further medical care until the regimen resumes, the Department of Children and Families said earlier this week.
