Dollar Tree executives said they plan to turn around struggling Family Dollar by re-branding many of its stores and trimming costs after Dollar Tree's $8.5 billion acquisition of the Matthews-based company. On a conference call with investors Wednesday, Dollar Tree CEO Bob Sasser said he's optimistic about the combined company's future. Comment?

Puhar, a 19-year-old former America's Next Top Model contestant, was found dead along with her boyfriend Jonathan Cosme Alvarado , 23 and Jusmar Isiah Gonzaga-Garcia, 21. TMZ reports the home was Alvarado's and Puhar had just moved in with the men. The site said a friend of Puhar and Alvarado's heard gunshots and then went into the house and saw two bodies and money scattered around, and then called the police. Comment?

The 201 central store in Wesley Chapel is one of five Harris Teeter or 201 central stores that will start selling draft beer in growlers over the next three to six months. The Matthews-based grocer will put five growler stations in North Carolina stores over the next three to six months, said Danna Jones, Harris Teeter's communication manager. Comment?

The Harris Teeter grocery store company announced on Tuesday that it would be closing its Salt Pond location near Bethany Beach in two weeks. The store is the area's newest Harris Teeter store, open at Salt Pond Plaza since March 31, 2010, on the heels of its first local store opening in West Fenwick. Comment?
