Jefferson City, MO - infoZine - Missouri, along with 49 other states and the District of Columbia, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Federal Communications Commission, has reached a settlement with AT&T Mobility, LLC, to resolve allegations that the company placed charges for third-party services on consumers' mobile telephone bills without authorization by the consumers, a practice known as "cramming." The settlement requires the company to pay $105 million in penalties and restitution. Comment?

The Missouri Department of Social Services has received feedback from local families and individuals indicating problems with online application processes for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The program allows eligible households to receive an allotment of food stamp benefits with the intent to "promote the general welfare and safeguard the health and well-being of the nation's population by raising the levels of nutrition among low-income households," according to the Missouri Department of Social Services SNAP information page.
