    Dover dials long-distance to 'deflate' Cambridge

    After all, taking some air out of the basketball might have affected state-ranked Dover's dead-eye shooting from long range! Cambridge turned in a solid first half and stayed right with the Tornadoes, but Dover turned in a dazzling display of three-point shooting and pulled away by outscoring the Bobcats 41-22 in the second half to claim a 75-49 repeat victory in East Central Ohio League Scarlet Division action Friday at Gene Ford Gymnasium. Dover -- which entered the game ranked 10th in the AP Division II state poll -- shot a blistering 64 percent from bonus range and 59 percent overall .

    Cambridge swimmers second in county meet

    The Cambridge High girls and boys finished second in the Muskingum/Guernsey County Swim Meet at Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans' pool on Saturday. Tri-Valley captured both team titles, outcoring Cambridge 123-69 in the girls' meeet and by a 103-65.5 margin in the boys' meet.

    Meadowbrook, John Glenn continue winning ways

    Sparked by a career-high 28-point performance by sophomore Parker Black, Meadowbrook High continued its winning ways by defeating visiting River View, 68-32, in East Central Ohio League Gray Division action on Friday. Meadowbrook took control early, racing to an 18-7 first quarter lead and increasing the margin to 34-19 by halftime.
