    Tascosa Rebels claim District 2-6A track meet

    It's not as if things were going poorly for the Tascosa boys track team Friday at the District 2-6A meet, but it was a good thing the Rebels were able to finish strong. Tascosa won four of the day's last five events at the district meet at Lowrey Field, clinching things with a victory in the 1600-meter relay to win the team title with 181 points.

    Tascosa Lady Rebels capture 3rd straight district title

    The way the meet started for Tascosa's Markaashia Richardson on Thursday literally had an impact on how she - and her teammates - finished Friday at the District 2-6A track meet. And it was a close call at the end, but it was in the best place it could be for Tascosa, literally in Richardson's hands.

    AHS, Tascosa face critical road games

    After they ended up tied for fourth in District 2-6A on Tuesday, Amarillo High and Tascosa will both be headed south today with each game becoming more precious. Thanks to a quirk in scheduling in which games were shifted because of the weather, both Amarillo High and Tascosa played district games at home Tuesday, and had contrasting results.

    The Tascosa boys and girls track teams are going to face quite a challenge if they're going to win district championships today at Lubbock's Lowrey Field. After four events each on the first day of the District 2-6A track meet, Amarillo High held the lead in the boys and girls team standings.

    Amarillo High springs upset of Frenship, 2-1

    The Amarillo High Sandies pulled off their biggest win of the season, as J.T. Fogg's two-run double in the bottom of the fifth helped lift them to a 2-1 victory over Frenship in a District 2-6A game Tuesday afternoon at Sandie Field. Amarillo High not only handed Frenship its first district loss of the season, but moved into a tie for fourth in the district with crosstown rival Amarillo High.

    Frenship's Benitez wins bronze in muddled finish to ...

    Benitez took third place Friday in the 3,200 - an event that race officials messed up, prematurely ending the race at seven laps instead of the standard eight. "This is actually my very first time to race 2 miles," Benitez said, "so when I heard the bell lap, I was a little excited.

    Frenship girls soccer eliminated by Arlington Martin

    The Frenship girls soccer team first season as a Class 6A school came to an end with a 2-0 loss to Arlington Martin in the area round of the playoffs at Shotwell Stadium Thursday night. The wind served Martin well in the first half for two goals, but the Tigers were unable to do anything with it in the second half.
