    They follow the lead of their head coach Barry Search, who likes to say with a smile, "We're small, but slow." But Search was a bit more expressive Thursday night after his team's 5-1 win gave the Trojans their second straight district title, 13th district gold overall and their 50th win over the last two seasons.

    Whitehall pitcher Kay Solderitch struck out 11 in the Zephyrs' victory over Emmaus. When coaches tell their teams it's a long season and mix in a cliche about how "it's not how you start, but how you finish" they could always use the 2015 Emmaus and Whitehall softball teams as prime examples.

    Panek, a sophomore hurdler for Saucon Valley High School, thought she'd look back on the Colonial League Track and Field Championships as one of the worst days of her athletic career after finishing last in a race she thought she had already won. As it turns out, she'll remember last Wednesday as one of her best sports experiences ever - thanks to the gesture of a thoughtful new friend she encountered by chance in Whitehall's Saquon Barkley, the Lehigh Valley football star with a scholarship to play at Penn State .
