    East Gaston senior Delanie Knight claimed bronze medal at the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A state diving competition earlier this week. Knight scored 427.22 points to place third by a wide margin in the 1-meter diving event at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary.

    Marvin Ridge blew away the field at the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A swimming championships Thursday at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary. The Mavericks finished with 383 points, well ahead of runner-up Raleigh Cardinal Gibbons .
