After a great 14 year run as the voice of the Arkansas Travelers, Phil Elson has accepted the position as the new radio voice of Razorbacks Baseball and Women's Basketball. When the mayor of Little Rock must send out a news release begging people to watch the University of Arkansas Razorbacks play SEC football opponent Georgia at War Memorial Stadium this Saturday, it's not hard to see why people think the end of UA games in Little Rock is near. UA can sell 16,000 more tickets in Fayetteville than it can sell at 55,000-seat War Memorial Stadium for starters. Comment?

As much as anything else, retrospective dissection is the gospel of college football fandom; and in SEC country, if you aren't combining spirits and profanity to motivate your second-guessing in the aftermath of a tight one, by God, buddy, you're doing it wrong. When it comes to football, Steve Spurrier is a stand-up guy who asserts what he means and means what he asserts whether about his own team or an opponent. So in retrospect it's surprising that the blunt South Carolina coach inadvertently asserted a half-truth after his Gamecocks routed the Razorbacks 52-7 in the Razorbacks' 2013 homecoming game in Fayetteville. Comment?
