    It is widely known throughout Bergen County that Tenafly and Dumont have a historic rivalry. While the games on the football field on Thanksgiving always seem to get the most attention, the Jan. 29 basketball game between the home Tigers and the visiting Huskies was most certainly an intriguing one.

    H.S. boys basketball: Tenafly defeats Paramus, 56-36

    Fresh off a win against a Top-20 team in the Ridgewood Maroons, 14th-ranked Tenafly was hot. The Tigers were looking to add a win to their resume and did so with a 56-36 victory over Paramus Jan. 20. Although the Spartans were 3-8 coming into the game, they had some intriguing wins.

    The weather might be cold outdoors but the indoor track season heated up this past week, especially at the first of the two Big North meets Monday night at the Armory Track Center and the Ridgewood Winter Games on Wednesday at Rockland Community College. St. Jacob Diodonet of West Milford and Kyle Ellerson of Bergen Catholic staked their early claims as the top boy sprinters in Passaic and Bergen counties, respectively, Monday.
