    Coming in to the final week of the season the Stamford baseball team knew it would essentially being playing three playoff games, needing to win all three to qualify for the FCIAC tournament. The Black Knights defeated the two teams leading them in the standings in Greenwich and Trumbull, leaving New Canaan standing between them and a spot in the final eight.

    The Staples softball team forfeited its game at Westhill Thursday afternoon after injuries unexpectedly left the Wreckers without enough players to field a team. Staples apparently had 10 players for Thursday's game, but two went to the school athletic trainer prior to boarding the bus.
