In the first of two all-Hernando County semifinals in Class 3A, District 7, Weeki Wachee dispatched the Bears 2-0. Central came into the district tournament with only two victories all season, but showing great determination, the eight-seeded Bears not only won their opening play-in game 4-1 over Hernando on Monday night, but stunned defending champion Citrus 2-1 in the quarterfinals Tuesday. Comment?

It was not the prettiest game Springstead played this season, but the Eagles walked away with their first district championship in four years Friday night. Hosting the Class 3A, District 7 tournament, Springstead rode the top seed all the way to a 2-1 victory over Hudson. Comment?

Perennial postseason contender Nature Coast will not be competing for its third straight district title after rival Springstead dropped the Sharks 2-1 in the Class 3A, District 7 semifinals. The Eagles controlled the pace of play for the entire contest, but the score was tied 1-1 at halftime thanks to the physical play of the Shark defense. Comment?
