SANTA FE SPRINGS >> The St. Paul High School girls basketball team will have a second chance in the last three years to bring home a CIF Southern Section title. After losing in the finals two seasons ago, the Swordsmen, behind a season-high 34 points from guard Adrianna Gonzalez, defeated visiting Armenian General Benevolent Union of Canoga Park, 64-45, Saturday night in a Division 4A semifinal and will play for the school's first championship next week. SANTA FE SPRINGS >> The St. Paul and Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary high school girls basketball teams opened the CIF-Southern Section playoffs knowing that if they took care of business they could meet in a mammoth Division 4A semifinal. Clarissa Perez scored a career-high 30 points and host St. Paul advanced to the division final four with a 64-52 victory over Notre Dame Academy, of Los Angeles, in the quarterfinals. Comment?

Wednesday is expected to be different when the Swordsmen host Notre Dame Academy in a Division 4A quarterfinal at 7 p.m. St. Paul had yet to give up 25 points in the postseason, routing California Military and Whitney , both on the road.
