    Lake Park earns edge in DVC

    For Lake Park's boys basketball team, it took that little break to get back to what it does best -- play stifling defense. Limiting Wheaton North to only 6 third-quarter points, the Lancers pulled away to a 61-54 road victory to build a two-game lead atop the DuPage Valley Conference standings.

    Girls basketball: Week 7 MVPs

    Emily Duckhorn, Lake Park: The senior guard had a hot hand all week, hitting six 3-pointers and scoring 25 points in a nonconference victory Saturday against Carmel, adding 4 rebounds. Against East Aurora on Tuesday, Duckhorn scored 19 points, hitting 4 more 3-point shots, grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing 4 assists in an Upstate Eight Conference Valley Division game.

    Vance, Lake Park band together to top Hoffman Estates

    The fancy record that Lake Park's boys basketball team has compiled through 20 games has been a pleasant surprise. "If you would have told me that we would be 17-3 after 20 games before the season started, I would be a little surprised," Lake Park forward Connor Vance said.

    Lake Park finds its identity again against Napervill...

    Lake Park's defense found its feet again, frustrating Naperville Central with a 38-27 DuPage Valley Conference boys basketball win in Roselle on Friday. The Lancers bounced back after letting up a season-high 61 points in their loss to Conant on Jan. 10, allowing a season-low 27 points, beating its previous low of 29 against Naperville North on Dec. 5. "I thought that we got back to guarding how we have all year," said Lancers coach Josh Virostko.
