Over the course of the swimming season, it became more and more evident that it was going to be really difficult to beat out the Cheverus High School boys swim team in the state finals. That theory held true on Wednesday, when the Stags captured their third straight Class A swimming championship with an overwhelming 360 points. Comment?

Over the last two years, the Brunswick High School girls swim team has found itself accepting second place at the Class A state championship swim meets, but on Tuesday at Bowdoin College, it finally got what it wanted - a state title. The last time the Dragons girls hoisted up the gold plaque at the conclusion of the meet, it was 2001 and their second in a row after winning their first at the start of the new millennium and sixth one since 1961. The Thornton Academy girls indoor track team won its second straight title, and the Falmouth boys captured their first state title since moving to Class A on Monday at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham. The Trojans received a huge lift from senior Tori Daigle who placed first the in the 55-meter hurdles , long jump and triple jump as she tallied 30 points. Comment?
