    Multi-sport standout Kelsey Hudson signed her letter of intent recently at Meigs High School, committing to join the Alderson Broaddus women's basketball team and women's track and field team. "I look forward to working with both teams at Alderson Broaddus," said Hudson.

    Meigs senior Daylen Neece signed his letter of intent on Monday at MHS, committing his talents to the Lake Erie College football team next season. "This is a chance for me to get my education paid for, for the most part," Neece said.

    Meigs crushes Lady Warriors, 16-2

    Meigs sophomore Alliyah Pullins hits a grand slam during Meigs' 16-2 win over Eastern Brown in a District III semifinal matchup on Thursday night at Unioto High in Chillicothe, Ohio. The second-seeded Meigs softball team blasted third-seeded Eastern Brown 16-2 in a Division III district semifinal game held on Thursday night at Unioto High School in Ross County.

    Marauders headed to regionals

    The Meigs baseball program is headed to its first regional tournament since 1996 after posting a 6-3 victory over top-seeded Minford Wednesday night in the Division II district championship game at Bob Wren Stadium on the campus of Ohio University. The seventh-seeded Marauders will face Sunbury Big Walnut in a district semifinal contest at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at Gant Municipal Stadium in Zanesville.

    Everything that worked for Marietta High in Tuesday's victory over Gallia Academy proved to be the Tigers' demise in a 5-3 loss against Meigs Thursday. MHS walked seven batters and committed three errors in a Division II sectional final against the Marauders, who scored five runs despite notching only one base hit in the ball game.

    Marauders win sectional title

The Meigs baseball team was held to just one hit in Thursday's Division II sectional final, but the Marauders took full advantage of seven walks and four errors en route to a 5-3 victory over visiting Marietta.

    Marauders rally past Jackson, 4-3

    After falling behind 3-0 in the third inning before inclement weather postponed things just 24 hours earlier, the Meigs baseball team had a much better showing Tuesday night by rallying for a 4-3 victory over host Jackson in a Division II sectional semifinal contest at Dick 'Sparky' Haller Field in the Apple City. The seventh-seeded Marauders - outside of the bad weather - had next to no luck during Monday's original start, as the guests mustered only one hit and three baserunners through three offensive trips to the plate.

    The host Athens girls track and field team posted a team total of 229 to win the 2015 Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division Championship, Boston Field on Thursday. Alexander was second with a total of 88, followed by River Valley , Meigs , Vinton County , Nelsonville-York , and Wellston with five.

    The Athens boys' track and field team claimed the Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division title Thursday night, posting a 144 team total at NYHS. Behind AHS was Meigs with a total of 98, followed by host Nelsonville-York , River Valley , Vinton County , Alexander and Wellston with eight.
