The grand plan drawn up by Pickerington North baseball coach Tim Thomas for a Division I district championship game was to use one pitcher every inning or every other inning just to give the team a chance to win. On Monday, ace Logan Giddings threw 114 pitches in seven innings, and No.2 man Koebe Rush threw 60 pitches five innings in a 2-1 semifinal victory in 12 innings over Dublin Coffman. Comment?

Scott Manahan found himself coaching up his Watterson baseball players almost on a pitch-by-pitch basis because they were too high voltage during a Division II district semifinal on Tuesday. Manahan, who long ago was elected into the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association hall of fame, understood their anxiety. Comment?
