Program sources confirmed multiple reports that four rising seniors committed to Miami: defensive end Joseph Jackson and running back Cedrick Wright , both Miami-Gulliver Prep teammates; Coral Gables running back Amir Rasul and Lake Gibson defensive tackle Keyshon Camp .

    MICMS Girls Soccer Wins GCAC Championship

    Thanks to word-of-mouth community support and the Optimist Club of Marco Island's recreational league, a crowd of about 200 spectators gathered at Winterberry Park to watch the Marco Island Charter Middle School Girls Soccer Team win the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship game against Evangelical Christian School of Fort Meyers. Led by a strong backbone of eighth graders and second-year Head Coach Patrick Baldwin, the Eagles won handily 6-1 and brought the first conference championship in any sport back to MICMS since 2009.

    Fowles, a 6-6 center who is currently playing pro ball in China and also stars in the WNBA for the Chicago Sky, recently donated $10,000 to the Edison girls' basketball program, according to Red Raiders athletic director David Schorr . Part of the money was used to buy new uniforms for the girls, and the rest was stored away for future needs of the program.
