    Eagle's Landing hosts Locust Grove on Friday

    Following its first win in four meetings against Locust Grove last season, Eagle's Landing aims to inch closer to evening this series when the Wildcats visit Eagle's Landing Stadium on Friday in a sub-region 4A-AAAA contest. "They are a big, physical team," Eagle's Landing coach Joe Teknipp said.

    Ola and Stockbridge are two of six teams with a 1-1 sub-region 4B-AAAAA record. This Friday at Ola Stadium, either the Mustangs or the Tigers will position themselves atop the standings.

    Road to Columbus begins today for county teams

    Four wins, starting with a needed pair between today and Thursday, is all that separates East Coweta, Newnan and Northgate over the next two weeks from a potential trip to the GHSA Elite 8 Softball Championships. Thanks to its efforts over last week's region tournaments, East Coweta and Newnan open the Class AAAAAA sectionals with best of three series at home, while Area 4-AAAAA champion Northgate also gets the benefit of a home-field advantage in the two rounds that precede the double-elimination Elite 8 tournament at South Commons in Columbus.
