    Tornadoes take second at Nelsonville-York

    The Southern boys track and field team claimed second place to host Nelsonville-York Tuesday night, while the Lady Tornadoes were seventh, at the NYHS open meet in Athens County. The Buckeyes won the boys team competition with a total of 164, followed by Southern with 128 and Vinton County with 94. Seven teams scored in the boys meet.

    Meigs wallops Lady Vikings, 17-1

    The Meigs softball team snapped a two-game losing skid in convincing fashion Wednesday night following a 17-1 victory over host Vinton County in a Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division matchup in Vinton County. The visiting Lady Marauders never trailed in the contest and scored at least once in each of their five innings at the plate, which included a 6-0 advantage through an inning and a half of play.

    Raiders beat VC for 1st win, 10-3

    The River Valley baseball team snapped a four-game losing skid while also earning the program's first-ever league win Monday night during a 10-3 decision over visiting Vinton County in a Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division matchup in Gallia County. The Raiders never trailed in the contest as the hosts stormed out to an 8-0 advantage through four complete frames.

    Lady Vikings hold off River Valley, 10-7

    The River Valley softball team allowed 13 hits including two homeruns Monday night, as the Lady Raiders dropped a 10-7 decision to Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division guest Vinton County. The Lady Vikings pushed across two runs in the first inning on a homerun by Womeldorf, and followed it up with a two-run second inning.
