    Parkview defense stifles Episcopal

    Senior Jaylen Franklin scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Patriots outlasted Episcopal Collegiate 56-51 in Friday's semifinal game at North Little Rock's arena. The Class 6A Patriots held their 3A opponent scoreless for more than seven minutes during the middle portion of the second half to take control of the game.

    Little Rock Central has a lot of new faces on its team this year, but wound up with the same result at the Bulldog Classic. LR Hall : K. Williams 18, Orr 14, Scott 7, Brown 7, S. Williams 6, Allen 3, Jackson 2, Perry 2 Fayetteville : P. Jones 10, Breathitt 7, Holmes 4, Schuldt 4, Crockett 3, Ratcliff 2, Morgan 2, Coulter 1. Central led almost the entire game, building a double-digit lead early in the first half and cruising to the big victory with a rotation that included five sophomores.

    Charleston Edges Booneville To Reach 3A Title Game

    Booneville led Charleston 14-7 but the Tigers scored 14 unaswered points in the second half, including Wade Gerlick's six yard touchdown run with just more than two minutes left to give the Tigers a 21-14 win and a berth in the 3A championship game. Charleston will face Smackover on Friday at 7 p.m. Smackover defeated Little Rock Episcopal 18-12 in the 3A semifinals.

    Basketball: Martin's Flurry Lifts Bentonville Past R...

    Martin scored eight consecutive points to end the quarter as the Lady Tigers defeated Russellville 57-50 in the opening round of the Crabtree Invitational. Martin finished with 20 points for Bentonville, which trailed 31-25 early in the third quarter.
