    Lady Cyclones bit by Bulldogs

    Cold shooting doomed the Russellville Lady Cyclones during their 46-27 loss to the Greenwood Lady Bulldogs on Friday inside Cyclone Gymnasium. Russellville was held to just five points in the first quarter and eight in the second - but the dagger was in the third quarter, when Greenwood outscored the Lady Cyclones 12-4.

    Cyclones prepare for Colors Day rumble

    The Russellville Cyclones and Lady Cyclones basketball game against the Van Buren points on Friday inside Cyclone Gymnasium isn't just Russellville's Colors Day, it's also the final game of the first round of 7A/6A-Central Conference action. Lady Cyclones head coach Steve Wiedower said that - combined with the fact that both the Lady Cyclones and Van Buren have two conference losses - made a win more imperative than ever.

    Owens hits 25 in Lady Cyclones win

    Alyssa Owens scored a season-high 25 points to lead the Russellville Lady Cyclones to a dominating 50-27 victory over the Mount Saint Mary Belles on Tuesday. Shameka Ealy scored seven of Russellville's points in the first quarter and was the only Lady Cyclones to hit any field goals.

    The announcement came less than two months after the Tigers won their second consecutive Class 7A state championship at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. He made the announcement - first to his coaching staff, then to his players - Monday afternoon at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

    Cyclones mercy rule Greenwood

    Zach Carter's steal and ensuing layup in the opening moments of the fourth quarter was enough to start the Mercy Rule during the Russellville Cyclones 69-41 win over the Greenwood Bulldogs on Friday inside Cyclone Gymnasium. The Bulldogs won the opening tip, but when Russellville's offense kicked in, it quickly and put up a spread that Greenwood would never close.

    Golden Suns 18-1 go undefeated in Texas

    The Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns 18-1 volleyball team went undefeated at the recent Winter Fest Tournament in Dallas, Texas. The Golden Suns 18-1 team is made up primarily of 7A/6A-Central Conference rivals and includes Russellville's Hunter Eshnaur and Meredith Darnell, but also Bailey Thomas from Atkins.

    Basketball: Tigers shut down Goldman, Wolves

    Shandon Goldman made a late 3-pointer, which is nothing unusual for Lincoln's high-scoring 6-foot-9 senior. But instead of hitting a game-winner, Goldman's shot with 1 minute, 20 seconds left was the only basket he made during a 50-44 loss to Prairie Grove on Tuesday.

    Cyclones grab first conference win

    Andy Campbell and K.J. Patrick each turned in double-double efforts and helped the Russellville Cyclones beat the Bryant Hornets 70-57. It was Russellville's first 7A/6A-Central Conference win of the season.
