    Conway, Mayflower reach state title games in baseball

    Conway High and Mayflower did it by different methods Saturday in the corners of the state, but both are headed to state baseball championship games. In the 7A semifinals at Fayetteville, the Wampus Cats got some timely hitting, took advantage of a wild pitch and edged Fayetteville, 3-2.

    Six Saline County teams begin their quest for a state championship today at sites all around the state, with five county teams secured first-round byes and will play tomorrow. The teams that have byes and play Friday are the Bryant softball and soccer teams, and the Benton baseball, softball and soccer team.
