    Lady Cougar tennis team stays undefeated

    Before another blast of cold air arrived - and possibly a dash of frozen precipitation with it - Newnan's girls tennis team stayed unbeaten on Tuesday by blanking Whitewater at home 5-0. The Lady Cougars lost a combined 10 games out of six contested matches, including a consolation victory by Elizabeth Cobb and Bai- ley Andrews, who continue to make a strong push to factor into the start- ing lineup this year.

    Lady Tigers in round of 8; Chiefs fall by one to end...

    The McIntosh Chiefs boys basketball team saw their previously unbeaten season come to an end Saturday night at home with a 66-65 loss to ML King in the second round of the AAAAA state basketball playoffs. Trailing 31-28 at the half, McIntosh outscored the opposition 21-8 to open up a 13-point lead.
