Parkersburg South got an all-important sixth win here Friday night as quarterback Garrett Gilkeson and running back Brendan Schwendeman led the Patriots to a wild 59-34 win over a game but outmanned Greenbrier East. After making its longest road trip of the season, the Patriots couldn't have got off to a worse start as Spartans speedster Zayvion Lawson returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and a stunning 7-0 lead for the home team. Lincoln County's Bryan Miller handled the sloppy conditions well while the steady rain had little to no effect on Tristan Browning or Austin Scraggs. Miller rushed for a season-high 225 yards and scored twice while Scraggs and Browning combined for 99 yards on the ground as the Panthers enjoyed their best offensive performance of the season.
