    Devils win big at Lady Bulldoggs

    Winder-Barrow's varsity softball team managed only two hits while giving up 13 hits, eight walks and a hit batter Tuesday evening and dropped a 12-0 Region 8-AAAAA contest to Loganville in five innings. On Cancer Awareness Night at Spratlin Field, all 12 of the Lady Bulldoggs' varsity players wore ribbons representing someone with some type of cancer.

    Lady Cats get revenge, region win

    Savannah Clark went 3-for-4, including a bases-empty home run, and drove in three runs, one of them the winning run in the seventh inning, to lead Apalachee's varsity softball team to a 5-4 Region 8-AAAAA victory over cross-county rival Winder-Barrow Thursday evening at the Lady Bulldoggs' Spratlin Field. The loss was the first in region play for Winder-Barrow and tied the two teams at 3-1 in the region.

    Lady Wildcats beat defending champs

    Becca Meade pitched a four-hit shutout and Apalachee's softball team scored its runs early to defeat Region 8-AAAAA opponent, and defending region champion, Heritage 4-0 Thursday evening at the Lady Wildcats' field.
