    MVC titles are on line

    The Andover boys and girls will come in as prohibitive favorites to capture the team titles at the Merrimack Valley Conference Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Cawley Stadium. Both Andover teams won MVC dual-meet titles this spring season, and the Andover boys were the All-State team champ indoors.

    Old rivals to play for title

    Lowell High finally must give up the Canaligator Bobblehead Trophy, the three-foot-high Holy Grail of the Lowell Spinners World Series. The clubhouse at Lowell's Stoklosa/Alumni Field has been the little guy's home for the past four years.

    Central clips Chelmsford, gets share of title

    While Central has been one of the top baseball programs in the MVC on Pelletier's watch, the Raiders finished with a rare losing record last spring. They entered the 2015 campaign determined to have a bounce-back season and they've done it.

    Burlington, Dracut soar at Relays

    The Burlington boys tied for first place with Bishop Feehan at the Division 3 State Relays in Burlington while the Dracut girls tied for second. In the Division 2 Relays the Central Catholic boys finished third behind North Attleboro and North Andover .

    Softball: Woods twice as nice for Groton-Dunstable

    Sarah Woods was the winning pitcher in both games as Groton-Dunstable swept past North Middlesex, 11-4 and 22-2, in a Midland-Wachusett League B Division softball doubleheader. In the Middlesex League, Burlington defeated Watertown in a romp, 25-8.
