    With week four of the high school football season nearly upon us, the cream is starting to rise to the top and a pair of those teams will face off on Friday. One of the big match ups in south Texas will take place in the Valley as Alexander travels south to take on Sharyland.

    LISD Teams Enter Bye Week

    Week three of the high school football season is behind us and week four brings our first taste of bye weeks as the three Laredo ISD schools will sit this Friday out. Cigarroa has come on the scene and picked up a pair of wins already after a 28-0 win over Valley View.

    Bulldogs Fall to #11 Nikki Rowe

    Nikki Rowe came to Laredo and took the final three sets of their match with Alexander to win in four. The Bulldogs got off to a great start by winning the first set and then had all the momentum over half way through the 2nd set.

    Texas A&M makes early statement against overmatc...

    Let the record show that the first touchdown witnessed in expanded Kyle Field by Saturday's crowd belonged to LSU freshman running back Leonard Fournette. Realize that Fournette, the Tigers' five-star freshman signee, scored that touchdown in Baton Rouge, La., while A&M fans waited out a 2-hour, 5-minute lightning delay and were shown alternate programming from the SEC Network on the giant video board in the south end zone.

    Week two of the high school football season saw a number of big match ups in the area including, United taking on Valley powerhouse Sharyland, the Nixon Mustangs hosting Eagle Pass and Bruni opening their home slate against Monte Alto. Plus we give away our first player of the week award, take a look at the Alexander band and preview a pair of games taking place Saturday.
