Thursday night will see the Alexander baseball team look to take the next step in their ultimate goal of a state championship, but to get there the Bulldogs will have to go through a familiar foe that reaches beyond their high school years. One year ago the Alexander baseball team had high hopes entering this very same regional semifinal round but ran into a puzzle they couldn't solve, falling to the Reagan Rattlers. Comment?

Johnson and Reagan are one of 16 teams still with a chance to become the Class 6A state baseball champions and both are playing in the regional semifinals this weekend . A potential matchup between district rivals in the Region IV-6A final next weekend also represents something that hasn't happened in 24 years. Comment?

It was a good weekend for the last two high school baseball teams left from the Gateway City as both United and Alexander are off the regional quarterfinals this weekend. The Longhorns made quick work of Brownsville's Veteran's Memorial, sweeping the chargers two games to none punching their ticket to the 3rd round. Comment?

This weekend will bring the area round of the UIL baseball playoffs and Laredo is down to just two teams after this past weekend with one squad continuing to turn heads at the national level. Alexander continues to climb in the national polls, they sit in the top five in three major rankings and are number eight in the country according to maxpreps.com's compilation rankings. Comment?

The Seguin High School softball team's 2015 season ended Friday night with an 11-1 loss to Leander in the area round of the Class-5A playoffs at Cedar Park-Vista Ridge. The game was originally scheduled to be played at the Noack Sports Complex in Austin, but Friday's rainfall left the field too wet to play on, so the teams scrambled to find another venue. Comment?
