    Bridgeport routs Hedgesville

    Bridgeport used a nine-run seventh inning to rally for a 9-7 victory over Jefferson earlier Friday. Then after and a quick road trip to the Eagles Nest, Bridgeport produced two innings of at least five runs to take a 15-4 victory over Hedgesville.

    Spring Mills hosts invitational meet

    The Spring Mills Invitational went late into the night Friday, but athletes from Jefferson, Washington, Hedgesville, Martinsburg, Keyser, Berkeley Springs, Clear Spring, Maryland, and Smithsburg, Maryland, didn't let the late hours stop them. Kamren Winslow from Smithsburg won the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.5 second, just beating Spring Mills' Ty McDaniel .

    Eagles stymied by Loudoun Valley

    After a 1-0 loss against Musselman Tuesday night, the Hedgesville Eagles continued to have missed opportunities plague them Wednesday at Anderson Field. Hedgesville left seven runners on base, five of them in scoring position as the Eagles fell to Loudoun Valley, Virginia, 11-1 in mercy-rule shortened fashion.

    Rogombe reaches new heights for Patriots

    Participating in the third annual Ram Country Track and Field Invitational for Washington, Rogombe won two individual events and was part of a winning relay team. One event win stood out among the rest, and that was in high jump, where she recorded a mark of 5 feet, 10 inches to tie a state record.

    Cardinals hold on against Eagles

    The Spring Mills Cardinals ended up in a bit of a jam in the final inning against Eastern Panhandle Athletic Conference and sectional rival Hedgesville Eagles. Having a 5-0 lead, the Eagles strung together three runs on two hits and a pair of defensive lapses against Spring Mills pitcher Cody Hammond on the Cardinals' Strike Out Cancer night.

    Cougars' King goes on offensive tear

    Down at the Mingo Bay Classic tournament, King helped Jefferson's baseball team finish 3-1 with an offensive showcase. The Cougars' senior second baseman had himself quite a week, finishing 6 for 14 at the plate with 10 runs batted in.

    Area Roundup: Five teams get wins at Mingo Bay Classic

    Jefferson continued its strong performance at the Mingo Bay Classic with an 11-0 win over Grainger, Tennessee, on Friday. The Cougars scored all of its runs over the first three innings - four in the first inning, five in the second and two in the third.

    Roundup: Three area teams post shutouts at Mingo Bay...

    The Cougars paired three-run innings in the second and fourth and added two runs in the seventh to defeat Chancellor pitcher Mason Riser, who began his career at Hedgesville. All but one Jefferson starter registered a hit in the team's 11-hit attack.
