    Milestone Victory Victory

    Spring Mills coach Joel Silver gave Zane Cogan a green light for any open shot he saw on the floor Monday night against Hedgesville in Class AAA, Region II, Section 1 tournament. Cogan, who saw an increased amount of minutes due to starting guard Josh Mack being out with a concussion, took advantage of that green light and went, scoring a team-high 16 points with 12 coming from 3-point range.

The Bulldogs are a perfect 9-0 against sectional competition, while the Cougars have just two losses in the section, both coming to Martinsburg by a combined 14 points.

    Roundup: Two swimmers advance at states

    Eastern Panhandle swimmers endured a difficult day during the first round of the state swimming meet on Thursday at the West Virginia University Natatorium. Elekes moved on in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute, 5.78 seconds, and Payne advanced in the 100 backstroke in 1:05.55.
