In the Class AA final at Pennbriar Athletic Club, Grove City freshman Emily Gordon beat 2013 winner Lauren Petrella of Mercyhurst Prep. Gordon, who rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory, became the first Mercer County player to finish first since Hickory's Alison Mudrey in 2003. Comment?

Mercyhurst Prep's girls tennis team has a chhance to resume its dominant postseason play when District 10 competition starts Saturday at Pennbriar Athletic Club. Draws for Saturday's main portion of the singles tournament will be made in the hour before Class AAA begins play at 8:30 a.m., with Class AA scheduled to start at 9. All rounds will run through the semifinals. Comment?
