    St. Regis Falls To Defend TitleAt Gutterson Tournament

    Lisbon spent much of the second half of Saturday's Al Gutterson Memorial Tournament game cutting Heuvelton deficits, as large as seven points, to one possession. As the game entered the two minute mark center Alex Gravlin converted inside off Tristan Vine assists on back-to-back possessions to give the Knights a 42-41 lead.

    Potsdam boys subdue Gouverneur; OFA surges past Massena

    The Potsdam Central varsity boys basketball team used a smothering defensive effort to produce a 70-9 NAC Central Division win at home over Gouverneur on Thursday. DeQuan Pitts led a balanced offense with 16 points followed by Jack Byrnes with 10 as the Sandstoners worked their way to a 30-5 halftime lead then outscored the Wildcats 22-2 in the third quarter before going on to push their unbeaten record to 5-0.

    Sophomore Taylor Perry scored 17 points to spark the Ogdensburg Free Academy girls basketball team to a 45-21 Northern Athletic Conference Central Division victory in their home opener against Gouverneur on Tuesday. In a matchup of early season unbeatens, the Huskies ran out to a 15-3 lead by the end of the first quarter and rolled to a Central Division win at Potsdam.

    Antoine Domino fired through 27 points and Russ Oakes struck for another 20 points as Salmon River claimed a 71-69 overtime victory over Canton in a Northern Athletic Conference East Division boys basketball game on Monday night. Louden Porter had a game-high 29 points and teammate Dane Ames netted another 28 for the Bears , who outscored Salmon River 20-13 in the fourth quarter to force the extra session.

Massena 70, Gouverneur 28: At the Massena High School gym, the Raiders ran out to a 22-11 lead by the end of the first quarter before taking control in the second where they outscored the Wildcats 17-4.
