    Clare wins JPC opener

    Clare hosted Gladwin on Friday in what was both team's boys basketball Jack Pine Conference openers, sending the Flying G's home with a 60-50 loss. "I thought we played a great game," Clare head coach Rob Wise said.

    Packard, Youngblood to lead Clare grapplers

    Both Tim Packard and Brandon Youngblood were one-time head coaches of the Clare wrestling team. Now, both men return as co-coach of the Pioneer wrestling team for the 2014-15 season.

    Gladwin snaps Clare JPC win streak

    After seeing its Jack Pine Conference winning streak snapped the game before, Clare rebounded with a lopsided win over visiting Houghton Lake Tuesday night, topping the Lady Bobcats 62-39 in JPC action. The Lady Pioneers outscored H-L in each of the first three quarters, carrying leads of 19-10 after the first, 35-17 at the half and 50-24 entering the fourth.

    Coleman pulls away, defeats Eagles 70-51

    Farwell only trailed Monday night's road game in Coleman by two points after the first quarter. The Comets gradually pulled away as the night moved on however, handing the Eagles a 70-51 non-conference boys' basketball loss.
