    Martin JV Black 27, Bowie JV A 12. Rodney Cooper led the Warrior offense with 127 yards rushing and a 70 yard touchdown pass to Cortlandt Brooks. Quenton Smith also had two interceptions, which he returned one of them for a touchdown to ensure the Warriors were victorious.

    Saginaw Boswell comes alive in second half to defeat...

    Saginaw Boswell running back Reginald Macon came alive in the second half, scoring three times as the Pioneers cruised to a 52-24 win over White Settlement Brewer at Pioneer Stadium. Boswell came back after being down 14-3 in the first half to tie it at 17-17 by halftime and then cruise in the second half.

    Dunbar QB, back each score four touchdowns

    Fort Worth Dunbar scored on all but one possession Friday night en route to a 59-7 win Friday against Fort Worth Carter-Riverside in a District 6-5A game at Scarborough-Handley Field. After gaining a first down on its first five plays to set the tone, Dunbar outgained Carter-Riverside 455-116 and kept pace with Lake Dallas in the top-heavy 6-5A.

    Football: Fast start fuels Falcons in Fort Worth frolic

    Lake Dallas rode the momentum from a 21-point first quarter to defeat Fort Worth Eastern Hills 49-7 in a testy matchup at Scarborough-Handley Field. Junior quarterback Dagan Haehn ran for 51 yards and two touchdowns for Lake Dallas, and he threw for 190 yards and four touchdowns.

    District parity proving out early

    Three games into the district schedule, the fact that four teams are sitting with 2-1 records shows the district strength is spread evenly across the teams. Guyer showed, once again, they are the team to beat, but Keller, Fossil Ridge, Central and Denton Ryan are all just a game back.

    Polytechnic tops Carter-Riverside in OT

    Fort Worth Polytechnic beat Fort Worth Carter-Riverside 26-20 in overtime on Friday night at Scarborough-Handley Field in its homecoming game. Polytechnic won on a Frederick Carter 21-yard run in OT after Carter-Riverside lost a fumble on a handoff.

    Nolan Catholic prevails after goal-line stop

    On a fourth and goal from the 1-yard line with only 34 seconds remaining, Dane Hucklebridge and Adam Moore crashed through to drop Addison Trinity Christian's running back for a loss and preserve a 36-29 win for Nolan Catholic just moments before Friday's storm hit Doskocil Stadium. Trinity Christian, behind the passing of Christian Hutzler and the running of Nahshon Ellerbe fought back from large deficits throughout the game and came within inches of pulling even when receiver Parker Oliver was knocked out of bounds at the 1 on a third-down completion from the 9-yard line.

    Arlington Lamar overpowers Fort Worth Paschal

    Arlington Lamar scored on each of its first 10 possessions as the Vikings rolled past Fort Worth Paschal 76-10 in a District 4-6A game on Friday night at Cravens Field. Top 25, had little resistance from the start as the Vikings' offense moved the ball at will, rolling up 610 yards, 429 in the first half.

    Volleyball: Denton focused on this season

    Prior to Friday's key District 5-5A match against Saginaw Boswell, Kading said she was reminded that her team had a chance at redemption against the Lady Pioneers - who ousted Denton in the first round of last year's Class 4A playoffs. That was the least of Kading's concerns, though.
