    South Whidbey boys roll over Granite Falls

    Falcon senior Parker Collins scored a game-high 19 points to power the South Whidbey boys basketball team to a 56-43 win over Granite Falls on Friday. The Falcons held a 21-14 lead by halftime and were able to extend it to 38-30 in the third quarter.

    Cascade clips Oak Harbor | Swimming

    The Cascade High School swim team, winning its fourth straight meet, defeated Oak Harbor 110-72 at Forest Park Pool in Everett Thursday, Jan. 15. Oak Harbor won only four of the 12 events and was hurt by not having any divers, surrendering 13 points to the Bruins in the event. Cascade, coached by Oak Harbor High School graduate Eric Smith, raised its record to 5-3; the Wildcats are 4-3.

    Stewart named football coach at Mariner

    The former Meadowdale High School football coach who enjoyed sustained success with the Mavericks for 13 seasons has been hired to replace longtime Mariner football coach John Ondriezek. Stewart, who has coached for more than 20 years, served as the defensive coordinator for the Marauders this past season.
