    MG's Collin Mahoney hit two doubles and an RBI and teammate Collin Montez added two RBIs for MG now 1-5 in the league. After losing to Arlington in the first game of the series, it was a great game to "get back on track from spring break," coach Gerry Klep said.

    Arlington girls golf wins, M-P girls tennis lose

    The Marysville-Pilchuck girls tennis team lost to Oak Harbor 4-3 April 14. Singles winners were: Claire Esser 3-6, 6-4, 6-4; and Megan Gross 7-6, 2-6, 10-7. Doubles winners were Jessica Mascowitz and Sara Vanderway 6-3, 6-2.

    Prep Athletes of the Week - April 5 - 11

    The left-handed freshman pitcher entered last Tuesday's game against Snohomish in the fourth inning and pitched three straight perfect innings before finally giving up a hit - the only one she allowed in the game - in the bottom of the seventh inning in a come-from-behind 4-3 win. In a 17-7 win over Glacier Peak, teammates Jacob Hunnewell and Garrett Walsh drove in five runs apiece.

    'Cats get win, now face 1st-place M-P | Baseball

    A couple of clutch base hits, several Everett errors and a strong start by Avery Aguirre helped the Oak Harbor High School baseball team win 5-3 at Everett Friday, April 10. The win gave the Wildcats a 2-1 edge in the series with the Seagulls and set up a showdown this week with Marysville-Pilchuck. M-P leads the Wesco 3A North with a 4-0 record , one game up on Oak Harbor .

    It was a day that was supposed to sort out some of the top teams in the Cascade Conference softball standings. But after two extra-inning games played mostly in a drizzling rain and a biting wind, not much was settled between Lakewood and Archbishop Murphy.

    Prep boys soccer: Archbishop Murphy 1, King's 0

    The King's and Archbishop Murphy boys soccer teams combined for 52 goals in their first seven games of the season. Archbishop Murphy's Sam Johnson netted the lone goal of the game in the 70th minute and the Wildcats hung on to defeat King's 1-0 in a physical Cascade Conference contest at Woolsey Stadium.

    Wildcats split with Everett | Baseball

    A day after piling up double-digit runs in a 10-6 win at Everett, the Oak Harbor High School baseball team could manage only one in nine innings in a 2-1 loss to the visiting Seagulls Wednesday, April 8. Oak Harbor put together a bookend offense in the 10-6 win Tuesday, scoring six runs in the first inning and four in the sixth. The Wildcats flexed their muscles in the first inning with three extra base hits.

    Track and field Falcons shine in first home meet in ...

    South Whidbey's first home track and field meet in three years was a strong showing for the home-field Falcons. Running on a newly surfaced track, a bright orange-red that replaced the worn and torn black, South Whidbey's boys narrowly edged Archbishop Murphy for first place April 2. The Falcon girls finished in second place out of four teams: Archbishop Murphy, Granite Falls, Coupeville and South Whidbey.

    Maddy Podnar tossed a no-hitter, collected three hits, and drove in three runs in Jackson's rout of Mariner in a Wesco 4A conference game. Jackson pounded out 19 hits including two doubles from Podnar, and a double each from Kristen Scott and Mollie Hickman.
