    DHS girls show Mustangs what time it is

    When a miscommunication about the starting time forced the Davis High girls volleyball team to play Monterey Trail almost as soon as it arrived in Elk Grove on Thursday, coach Julie Crawford was worried it might affect the Blue Devils' energy early. But there was no need to fret as DHS won each of the first two games on its way to a 25-15, 25-23, 24-26, 25-13 Delta League victory.

    Five high school football games to watch Friday night

    Rocklin is off to its best start since 2009, when the Thunder went 14-1 en route to a CIF State Bowl, thanks to quarterback Max O'Rourke and the running of Riley Clark, Evyn Holtz and Jeremy Stone, who have combined for 14 scores, and wide receiver Blake Laurin .
