    The last five games for the Paradise High varsity softball team resulted in more losses than the first 12 of the season, as the Bobcats went 2-3 against solely out of the area teams at the Washington Union Invitational last weekend in Fresno. Two of the three defeats came to upper division foes Cosumnes Oaks , 7-4 and Monache , 5-4, while Paradise beat host Washington Union, 5-1 and Argonaut , 11-0, but fell to division IV opponent Taft, 8-1.

    Two clean finishes and a perfectly played assist from sophomore Julia Curtis saved the Davis High girls soccer team from suffering a spring breakdown against Pleasant Grove on Monday at Yudin Field. Missing eight of 21 players due to DHS' spring break, which doesn't align with most of the other schools in the area, the Blue Devils were able to snag a 5-1 win over the Eagles, who came into the contest just one place behind second-ranked Davis in the Delta League.

    Twelve straight wins was the magic number before the Paradise High varsity softball team suffered a defeat, as the Bobcats fell 7-4 to Cosumnes Oaks of Elk Grove in their second game of the Washington Union Invitational Friday afternoon in Fresno. The Bobcats opened play with a 5-1 over Washington Union Thursday.
