    Quarterfinal series moved due to opponent's graduation

    The original dates of May 15-16 for the GISA Class AAA quarterfinal round were altered by Bethlehem Christian Academy and Tiftarea Academy officials and coaches. Tiftarea Academy has graduation scheduled for Friday and requested the series be changed to another date.

    Braves sweep past Dublin into Elite 8

    The 2015 Braves varsity baseball team continued to etch their names into school history Wednesday afternoon sweeping the Dublin Fighting Irish in a sweet 16 doubleheader to earn a spot in the GHSA Class AA state quarterfinals for the first time since 1985. After cruising to a 9-3 win in game one, the Braves took a much different route to victory in the nightcap storming back from a 6-3 deficit during the final two frames to win 8-7.

    Trinity Christian track teams took another big step in its pursuit for a GISA state championship last week, each placing among the top-five teams in Class AAA on Saturday at Hugh Mills Stadium. The Lions, led by Aaron George's individual state title in the 100 meters and second-place efforts by teammates Joseph Armistead and Aaron Johnson, finished third with 53 points.

    Powell continues final surge, betters own state reco...

    Heritage School senior Ruthie Powell continued a strong final push to her varsity track career, adding a second GISA state record in as many days - and this time breaking her own mark in the girls 800 meters. Powell bettered her state record from the 2013 state meet during her sophomore year, winning this year's event at Hugh Mills Stadium in 2:15.23, just under two seconds faster than a previous mark of 2:17.16.
